24 Super: winter update

Well, I'd been kicking around getting some leds for the cabin to replace
the regular light bulbs. I decided to go ahead and I've been on the fence
about adding accent lighting.. after I looked it over, I figured it'd be easy
and not require doing anything other than some wiring. I didn't want to
add any other switches, or make any holes, so I put the two white lights
on the same switch and accents on the other one.

Here is the orginal lights with the led replacement bulbs.. both on the
same switch.

Here is the cabin with the strips installed.. they have 3m double stick tape
already on em. Freakin easy to do.

These things are bright! I might buy a dimmer for em... figure I'll use it first
then decide.

I bought mine thru superbrightled.com

I've heard that you can get them cheaper off ebay, but I've used these
guys in the past and they are good to deal with.. fast shipping too.

The roll was 197 inches long.. just covered my entire cabin. They come
with leads already on one end and you just solder on the +- where you
make the cuts. They can be cut in 3 light segments (where the +- marks are).
They use a white shrinkwrap to cover the solder. I was able to pick
some up at radio shack to match on the other side. I'd get the little inline
dimmer too if you order some... they are bright.

I kicked around gettting the rgb ones that change color with a controller,
but I like to keep everything simple as possible and the red matches my
boat. They also have controllers that you can hook up to the stereo that
will make the rgb ones change colors with the beat. Tons of options with
leds!

They have 3m double stick tape already on em.. I just made sure to clean
the sides with alcohol where I was going to mount them.. I figured they'd
stick to my cabin liner good.

Looks great! I think my play money in my next paycheck might be spent on some red ones for mine too. Been eyeing them for a while, gotta take some measurements to see howmuch I'll need to do both sides and up around the open bow.

Got everything on the outside of the boat cleaned and waxed- even the old trailer. Bearings are packed tires and tires inflated. Still gotta clean the vinyl and the bilge.

Over the past winter, Adam Shook installed a nice little stereo that we planned on a long time ago... finally got around to getting it over to his place (right before he moved to FL).

Got some pics of the stereo setup...here is the reciever:

Went with 4 Polk 6x9s in the existing speaker holes.. the rear had hardly any clearance, so had to cut a small hole for em in the underseat storage.






Also added a wired remote to the port side and one on the transom.

Here is the dash.. notice there isn't a push button start anymore. After Adam did his thing, I had Kevin Brown fill the push button start hole. I could reach around the side to the key with no problem and the location wasn't working out since I brace my knees on the dash while running. Can't even tell it was there.. having gel color matched is kinda $$ but now I have the lab work/color for any future gel work.

I have a 10" sub that fits pefectly in the cubby for the crapper.. can't go any bigger than a 10. The backside is a view thru the hole in the bulkhead.. had to cut a circle out of it to fit the sub. Turned out good.

Clarion amps are hidden behind the dash.. kinda crowded, but I didn't want to see them. I need to get more pics of behind the dash, alot going on back there:
