100 speedo........
A~ you got a big trick up your sleeve?
B~ A big set of .....buoys
C~ Minimal sanity, majority insanity
OR
D~ all the above :D

I have run them gauges quite a few times. Great gauges, speedometers were within 1 MPH @ 70mph. Only issue.... I had the tach with digital hour meter. Display kept going out and last time was like pulling teeth for warranty repair.

I really hope we can meet up this year. Would love to see it in person, and if we were to do some boating, racing, and drink a couple ...... so be it! :D

You forgot the choice of young dumb and full of... I'm going with D although I know I won't hit 100 this year. Next year will be a different story;)

I'm not sure I'm going to keep that speedo or get a GPS speedo. My new lower unit doesn't have a connection for the pitot tube, and I haven't decided if I want to do the whole transom mounted thing yet. Any suggestions?

Looking great Spencer!!! Not long now before splashing her!!!!:thumb: Where did you get the gauges from?

I got the guages from great lakes skipper.

Hire you a RNGRDVE to ride with you and hold the tube while in motion

Quick photo update from tonight. Just a few cell phone shots I took when I powered everything up. I need to organize a strap the wires up at the back of the boat, and I'm done with the wiring. Tomorrow I will handle the wires, prime the racor filter, set the front seats and go fill her up with some gas. After a test run on the hose, I'm ready for Saturdays run to Philly:bigthumb:

Just a thought for you but I got a garmin gps unit. Has gps, speed, depth and alot of useful info. Gotta love typing in cold beer and it shows you where to go when your not from the area.

Alright, lets try this again.

She is running and ready to go. Tomorrow I will splash her and take a test ride:o

When I first ran the engine, I had slightly high water pressure, so I called the engine builder. He said it should be ok so go ahead and do a water test and take it easy to see if it clears up. (that was Friday night) Saturday morning I got a call from him saying after thinking about it, he would rather me check a few things. Well, one thing led to another and before I knew it I had the whole engine apart again looking for some kind of blockage. Long story short, I dismantled and rebuilt the engine three times before finding the problem. Dismantled, rebuilt and test ran (I mean power head off, lower unit off, mid section off, adapter and exhaust plates out) three times since yesterday. Each time I was looking for something different but found nothing. Turns out it was a faulty poppet valve. I found this out on a hunch and by reaching up under the power head and trying to move it by hand. It was locked in place, so I swapped it out with an extra I had and presto! Perfect water pressure:banana:

Frustrated I went through all of the work I did, but glad it is fixed and a simple one at that. I will post pics from the water test tomorrow:bigthumb:

Here is a cell phone pic from today.

Test run went well today, but the throttle control broke on my way back in. The plastic piece that holds the cable in the housing broke off causing a couple minutes of WTF is going on. I will get some new parts, or fix what is there and be back on the water this coming weekend.

Here are some pics with a real camera after a quick scrub today. I was going to pull up on a beach and get some water shots, but my day was cut short so that didn't happen... Next weekend:o
