Checkmate Supporter's Lounge

I believe its always been there. The large "private" is what I think made it look different to me. Talking to a supporting member it hasnt had anything going on in it for a while. I noticed the picture gallerys look a little different too. I think Chris has been makeing some changes here and there.

not a lot goes on in it. last post was on 7-16-12 and 1-23-12 before that. but come on Keith be a supporter again and you can livin it up.

As dead as this place is anymore don't know that I would be a supporting member again. Things have changed on here [not for the good] so much that it don't seem worth it !:sleep:

The supporters lounge has alway been part of the forum. Part of the 'perk' of being a supporting member, also a place to go "hang" out with other members. However it doesn't get used much.

HP, like any webboard, members/traffic come and go over time, the season and whether they own a Checkmate anymore. As a long time member I don't think things have really changed one way or the other. I think we all appreciate Chris and the mods (JW, Robbie and Gus) for all the hard work they do to keep the board going.

Now if I could only get a free CM t-shirt for my ringing endorsement!

X2

If we were to go back to something more exciting and busy, it would be the fighting and bashing between Snakbit/Checkthis and whoever's skin he got under that day(He sure did post fast). There has been some other similar situations that have been resolved too. It may be that there is less posting and drama now, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

Supporting membership is pretty inexpensive, I can't think of very many things that are a better value. (If the place wasn't available free)

Just had a thought, the guy I miss is Captain Morgan

Hi Guys,

The supporter's lounge has been there for many years basically unchanged.

Originally when we set it up, it was done so at the request of some of the members as they thought it would nice little perk for becoming a supporting member.

It's really never been used that much.

I did update the gallery software a few weeks back and it does look and operate a little bit differently than the older version. I also updated the wiki and updated a few add-ons we use here on the forums, but the forum software itself hasn't changed as there are no updates being done for the version of vBulletin we run other than security patches.

I miss the captain too... :)

"I miss the captain too..."

I miss JW's little brother, Z06! He to this day must be one of the top five posters on this board. But the boy hit puberty and he was gone to other things in life.

I actually did get a "captain-esk" email a month or two ago.

He said he's working on a boat that isn't a Checkie. I can't remember what it was....

But he said he'll no doubt do another Checkmate again in the future and will be back.

At least I think that what he said. :D
