Enforcer Floor resto

Looks great...and solid. Good job on staying on the job and moving forward with it and thanks for all the pics. You'll have fun next spring knowing you can run hard without worrying.

X2!! You do great work. Might have to set up a side business and start doing the rest of the members boats on here!!

Thanks and you're welcome!!! I'm trying to get all the glass work done before it's cold here. Ok so not as cold as my fellow northern members, but it still gets cold here.:D

The way work is going it's an option. I keep saying I'm not gonna do this again, but the fun part is putting it back together.:thumb:

Today I added the second of three layers of 1708 to the transom, one more to go. Then I'll add another perimeter layer and seal the top (angled piece).Hopefully I'll get the knee/stringers glued in place over the weekend and get ready to glass those in place. I have pictures but it looks like the ones posted, only difference is the overlap is longer.

Wonder if Coop can dig up the gel color at the factory. Is that factory gell or has it been repainted?

The boat was repainted. The orginal color is red on the bottom, white sides, black gunnells and the deck was white with red and black stripes.
I'll double check that from the original purchase order I got from Mike @ Checkmate.

I don't know if it an option or not,but if you can take the boat to one of the better auto, body shops in your area they have a camera(for lack of a better description)that they place the lense right against the paint and take a shot of it.I assume then it hooks up to a computer and it tells them how to mix the paint. They did this on my truck last winter when I had a bit of a fender bender. My truck is an odd ball blue metallic that is definitely not factory and the color match was perfect.

Nice work BTW!
Chris

LOL!!! Thanks for the compliment! I would help any of my fellow c'maters if we lived close to each other. However I do like the southern weather!!!:thumb:

This morning I added the last layer of 1708 on the transom. Next up is sealing the top (angled piece) and embedding the knee/stringers then glassing those in place. I've got to fill in the edges were I cut the inside back to get the transom out. Other than that the transom is completed.

What kind of tools did you use for your destruction phase and shaping the new parts?

I rarely see this in descriptions of restorations, but I think a lack of the right tools probably held me up more than anything while replacing my floor. I wish I knew what the pros use. Buying new tools cost me almost as much as the floor materials.

I wound up using a Craftsman mini circular saw for the majority of cutting, a wood chisel, a 15-inch pry bar, a 36-inch wrecking bar, a Harbor Freight multi-tool (like a Fein MultiMaster)(don't bother, the blades wear out too fast), a thick butcher knife (to cut out the foam), an angle grinder with a KwikTools C7 Bad Blade (to cut close to the edge) and a quick pass with a sander hooked up to a mini shop vac.

BTW, I removed my bow rails like you did. I had to use an impact driver for about half the screws.

Why did you wait to do the three layers on different days?

Looks like a nice job by the way.
