Enforcer Floor resto

Wow, if you are going to glass the deck anyway, why not roll on non-skid in a pattern, paint it and lay in some (snap-in) carpet? Glued carpet is a cheap way to cover unsealed decks. You've spent the time and money to glass/seal it. Are you going to tape the edges so water can't run around it by the hull?

Ever thought about a sump/drain to route the water to the bilge? I hate the way there is no path for water to run off the deck into the bilge to the pump. I've thought about glassing in a dam/drain tube right to the pump area so it doesn't run all under the rigging, batteries, fuel tank.

My solution now is lots of towels when skiers/swimmers get in. My bilge will never get wet unless I get caught in a T storm.

Nice job by the way. You don't seem to be slowing down. :thumb:

You're reading my mind, GW. I'm going to use a product called "Tuff Coat non-skid coating from Overton's, I'll go with a gray since my carpet is dark red. Then add snap in carpet later. Here's the link:http://www.overtons.com/modperl/pro...ing_gallon&merchID=1008&str=73213&from=search

In the back where the knees and floor meet I'll cut slots to help the water drain to the bilge area. I'll show a picture once I've got the floor in.
My batteries and oil tank I'll do the same thing that I did with the Pulse170 resto. I'll add pads underneath so water will go around not under them. My fuel tank is under the floor, so still working on getting that seal up around the hoses and sending unit.

Thanks!!!!!!

You are on a mission, man...Nice job. That boat will be better built than when it came from the factory. :thumb:

Thanks!!! I'm adding/tweaking a few things here and there, but when I'm she'll be solid. One concern I have is the hose for the bilge pump, because I made the knee braces tall I got to add a hole for the hose. I really don't to cut anymore holes than I have to. I'm already adding drain holes at the bottom of the knee/stringers as suggested by Xsive. Maybe I can go over the top of the knee.

Man I gotta proofread my posts a little better, fixed some errors in red.:o

Over the past few days, I got the bulkheads glassed in, the drain holes cut in the new stringers in the bilge area and the floor on both sides in. I replaced the section that I cut out when replacing the transom, upper left and right sides(first two pictures). I've added hull and deck putty around the perimeter on both sides, next will be installing the gas tank and then the middle section. After that the whole floor will be glassed in place. Here's some pictures:

I finally ran out of steam like groundloop, I think the resin was getting to my brain. Before that happen I managed to install the gas tank, the middle section of the floor and sealed the joints with hull and deck putty. I also got the first of two layers of mat cut out and waiting to get wetted out. After that's done I'll go around the perimeter with a 8" strip to finish sealing the floor to the hull. Here's a few pictures:

I got the first of two layers of mat wetted today on the floor. I'll add the next layer in a couple of days along with the 8" strip around the perimeter. While that drys/cures I'll finish glassing in the top of the transom. I bought some fairing putty to smooth/blend the top and back of transom where I cut it apart. Then prep the transom for painting, hopefully I can match the color or at least come close were it isn't noticable. So far I've used eight gallons of resin out of the ten that was purchased. Here's a few pictures from this morning:

I'll probably give you call soon, getting close to wrapping up the resto, at least the inside. Once all that's done I still got all the wiring to sort out. :shakehead:

Wiring would be my specialty
You're welcome to stay for a few days as well, it's warmer down here. :D You would'nt believe the rats nest I pulled from underneath the splashwell. The PO decided it was easier to cut and tie in place instead of removing the wire completely.

thats so cool that u fellows are willing to drive and help each other. i am down here in this little town all by my self. when the nabours see the lights come on in my shop they all run and hide. unless it is something they need worked on. i also want to say it is a pleasure to follow all these threads because yall all are very talented folks....

I finally got the floor completely glassed in, with two layers of mat and the 8" perimeter strip. I also got all the pads made and glassed for the two captain chairs, batteries and the oil tank, haven't installed those in the boat yet. The weather has turned cold here and i don't have a heated garage so the few items left to be glassed in place will depend on warmer days. I'll snap a few pictures of the pads in the morning to post.

I got the rubberized coating (Tuff Coat) from Overton's for the floor, ended ordering two gallons that was delivered on Friday. I'll add snap in carpet later. One item I'm wrestling with is moving the batteries over to the passenger side and the oil tank on the drivers side. Doing that I'll have to add/extend the wiring, and move the battery switch as well. Also I'm thinking about mounting the gas filter to one of the knees which will be above the bilge area. I'll take a few pictures showing that as well. That's all for now.

Nice work, and i know you will be proud when your done, Im glad you have photo documented this as it might help someone out with the same job. Ron

Here's the pictures of how I'm adding pads under the captain chairs, batteries and oil tank. These are placed on floor for pictorial purposes and will be adjusted before I glass them in place. I can remove them at anytime without disturbing the floor, by doing this no screws will penetrate the floor.

That's really turning out nice! I really like the idea of the extra 2x to screw into rather then the floor. I'm so glad I'm taking a month or so off from my boat to follow your restoration along with groundloop's as you guys are coming up with some great ideas!
