Enforcer Floor resto

Serious, call me when your about ready to do paint work and I will come down and help a brotha out:thumb:. Sides, I am always looking for a reason to get out of dodge.....aka cincinnati!

Brother here might need some help painting in the near future. I can get you out of Cincy but unfortunately I can't get you out of the state.

That's really turning out nice! I really like the idea of the extra 2x to screw into rather then the floor. I'm so glad I'm taking a month or so off from my boat to follow your restoration along with groundloop's as you guys are coming up with some great ideas!

Thanks Brio!!! I figured that out from the last resto. I thought about adding an aluminum plate glassed underneath the seat area, but still would've penetrated the floor. This way would all be guarantee no water intrusion under the floor.

I was wondering what you've been up to. (And most of my good ideas are stolen :D)

I've got many excuses for not making much progress lately: it's been too cold to fiberglass in an unheated garage; I've been helping kids with homework; gone fishin'; and above all else I caught a mild case of lazy a$$. Tonight my wife brought home a portable heater and told me to get the boat finished, so I suppose I need to cut out the excuses and get back to work.

After Christmas shopping with the wife today, I got all the pads glassed in place. I've got the horizontal braces to add on the transom and I'm done with the glass work. Before I could snap some pictures had company come over for a while. I'll snap a few pictures in the morning and post them. I'm painfully close to putting the mate back together.

For a minute, I was wondering if you had given up on her:poke:! EZFLYER has been smoking our resto's with how fast he is going on his!

Hey give me a call when you get a second Robbie so we can catch up! I got you number on a post it note......just cant find the damn note:brickwall:. Or PM me your # again!

I'm done with glass work

Finally!!! I've got all the glass work finished today.:bounce: I've got the horizontal braces glassed in, yesterday I had finished glassing in all the pads for the captain chairs, batteries and oil tank. I tried the color agent(white) for the bilge, transom and knees. I don't like the way it looks so I might try the bilgekote. I've got some sanding to do prior to rolling the tuff coat on the floor. Then finish the transom top with fairing putty before prepping the transom for painting. Here's some pictures:

Robbie,

I have skimmed through your thread twice and didn't notice how you installed your fuel tank. Did you reline the bulk head with foam? Or did you use shims to keep the tank from coming in contact with the sides of the bulk head?

What was the condition of your tank after you removed it? Mine has alot of pitting and corrosion externally. Just wondering if yours was in similar shape.

Hick I left the foam out and used shims on both sides of the tank. I then screwed the tank in place with ss screws nine on each side. My tank had some pitting on the top so instead of buying a new tank I cleaned the tank and applied jb weld to the bad spots. I made the middle section easy to remove if I needed to replace the gas tank in the future. I've got close to $2000.00 in the rebuild I guess another $300.00 wouldn't hurt too bad.:p

A little update, I'm waiting on the weather to get above 50* to apply the tuff coat http://www.overtons.com/modperl/pro...ting_gallon&str=tuff coat&merchID=1008&r=view on the floor. So while I'm waiting I found a couple of websites to order some marine wire, stainless steel bolts and nylon nuts ( I needed 18 for the gil bracket). The website for the marine wire is http://genuinedealz.com/ and the stainless steel bolts http://www.boltdepot.com/. The local West Marine store here is expensive compared to ordering online with free shipping. I try to buy locally if possible but sometimes you can't.

The weather finally warmed up enough to work on the mate today. I added a coat of primer to the floor and tomorrow I'll add the Ultra Tuff non skid, it will require two coats. I cut a hole in the knee brace for the bilge discharge hose to go thru. I've got all the holes drilled for the gil bracket and transom eyes. Lastly I'm trying my hand at painting, if it doesn't work out right I'm calling yellowfiero88(Brian) to shoot the boat for me.:D Here's a few pictures:

I'm in a race with the weather, it's suppose to rain and turn colder as the week progresses. So today I got the first coat of Ultra Tuff non skid on the floor and the second coat of paint on the transom. I've got enough Ultra Tuff left over after the second coat that I might do the bilge area and maybe half way up the transom. Here's some pictures:

I must say your doing great work there, I can't believe the work some members do to their boats, I'm afraid if I ever tore my boat apart like that I would never get it back together and would have to pay some one to do it, reading threads like this sure makes a guy what to try to do it though.

Robbie,

Are you spraying the transom or rolling it on?

I'm trying the roll and tip method with interlux brightside paint from Jamestown Distributors. I watched all the videos and read all the pros and cons, decided to try it since the transom was the only thing needed repainting. I'm impressed with the way this stuff levels out, looks like it's sprayed on. The fire red paint was the closest to the paint on the boat. The paint job wasn't in the budget this year with all the other work that was done, so I'll save up and eventually have the whole boat repainted, but for now this works.
