Enforcer Floor resto

"Nut's":eyecrazy: I'm goin' to Boone NC this weekend for a family ski outing. Bring it on:banana: to HELL with your resto!:thumb: I take that back ..... to ANTARTICA:D

I may have just cursed the spring ........ but your loss this week is my gain:rof:

LOL!!!!! I'm soooooooooooooooo close to getting this resto done then the weather turns south, I mean north.:D Damn it's cold!!!

That Ulta Tuff stuff looks great in there CM.. Now I'm going to have to think this over. How long did it take to set up? I take it clean up is easy being it's water based right?
You really have me thinking about doing the same to the floor on my Pulse with a snap in carpet instead now. I've already decided there will not be carpet on the gunnel side along with where ever else I can eliminate it while keeping weight in check.

I'm looking forward to seeing your second reto being a finished product! :bigthumb:

ST the Ultra Tuff is water based, it cleans up with soap and water, oil and gas resistant as well. The product takes two full days to totally cure after the second coat. I used the primer they recommended as well. The key is in the prep making sure you scuff up the floor with 36 or 40 grit sandpaper prior to rolling. Also you'll need to buy the special roller for the application. Very easy to clean just hose it down and either wipe or air dry. I left the carpet on the gunnells because of the panels that cover it. I've walked on it bare footed already, not bad on the feet. The granules are recycled rubber particles. How well does Ultra Tuff hide small imperfections? I'm tempted to try something like that instead of carpet, but just haven't quite convinced myself yet.

Two coats hides 95% of the imperfections. Where I glassed in the floor the overlap is barely noticable. I should have smooth those areas out some more to make it perfect or close to it. I think once all the interior is back in those spots become less noticable. I like the idea of rinsing the boat out as oppose to vacuuming. Look at post 184 and 185 you can see the fiberglass line next to the bilge area and a faint line across the deck. I'm pleased with the results.

Update on the progress, the temps are finally starting to climb back to normal around here so I'll get back to work this weekend. I've got all the new wire for the rewiring in, I'm waiting on cable bezels from Eddies Marine for the hydraulic lines to go thru the top of the transom and the aluminum plate my friend is fabricating. I was hoping to hang the gil bracket and motor this weekend, but that might not happen until next weekend. Once all the rerigging and rewiring is done it's a matter of putting the interior back in, then wash and wax the mate.

I got some work done today on the Enforcer, finished pulling all the wire out that was abandon in place. I had some left over carpet from the previous resto so I decided to use in the cuddy where the cushions go. I got the bilge pump and batteries mounted. Tomorrow I'll mount the oil tank. I still got all the wiring to do plus mount the perko switch, still waiting on the aluminum plate so I can mount the gil bracket and motor. Also cut two holes for the hydraulic lines to go thru the transom. I'll take some pictures tomorrow, the camera battery was dead today.

I'm done with the floor and transom resto and will wrap this thread up once the interior is back in with pictures. I've got the aluminum plate here for the transom and probably will hang the gil bracket and motor this weekend. At the moment I'm rewiring the mate which I started another thread.

Today I got the gil bracket, aluminum plate and motor mounted. Eighteen bolts, nuts, lock and flat washers just for the gil bracket alone. That's a bunch of ss hardware. I got the rigging hose to clean/hide the cables going thru the transom. The two smaller holes you see on the transom is were the hydraulic lines for the steering will go thru. I got a couple of bezels to dress those holes up. I probably could've got the scratches out of the plate, but since it was inside and under the sun pad I didn't. Here's some pictures:

Are you sure that is going to be strong enough:poke:

Just kidding, it looks mighty strong, and I like the way that 250 looks hanging off that bracket.:bigthumb:

LOL!!!! That aluminum plate should distribute the load evenly acros the transom, at least that's the plan anyway. The transom and knee braces are plenty strong enough, but I like the added assurance of the plate.

Today I got all the cables, oil and hydraulic lines connected back to the motor. I've got to get a new water pressure line to run from the gauge back to the motor and get a hose fitting for the gas line to finish the rigging. Next will be connecting to the battery, purging the hydraulic lines and finish the wiring before the interior goes back in. Here's some pictures:

Oh I don't know' in my old merc manual they say you should have 2 of your mounting bolts facing forward and 2 backwards.:rof:

You are correct!!!! I'm gonna change out the bolts, so I'll face two out then.:thumb: I noticed that afterwards but was to lazy to turn two of the bolts around, plus it was cold.

I suppose it would have something to do with shearing the bolts from the torque. I've actually seen it both ways, so who knows what's correct. This is how the motor was rigged before I got it, look at the bolts:http://checkmate-boats.com/forums/album.php?albumid=27&pictureid=117
