Oops....the 92 283 is a 281 Convincor and the link on the 81 green flake Enchanter is wrong.

Cool that you found the previous advertisement. Very easy to ID the engine from the better pictures. The blue color highlights the head, intake, and valve covers. The straight on front image shows the distributor angle better for me also. That aint no FE. Ford made a lot of engines.

Yeah, at sub-$1k that is enticing. But no trailer (where did it disappear in the last 7 year?). The engine looks totally different, and the listing says original listing says: 'It 'turns over'. Not starts, runs, screams, etc. Now it says 'low compression'... It's been run in salt/brackish water. The gel coat is faded for something the seller claims is 'garage stored'. And now he'll only deliver it within 50 miles, not the original 100 miles.

The price is good, but the gut vibes I'm getting aren't.

What do you think? I've tossed money away before, so this wouldn't be the first time. Or the last...

There are two little devils on your shoulder, the one on the left in Black says you'll never get a better deal, these boats are very rare and you will never find another one, everything can be fixed, it's only money, that boat is sexy.
While the one on your right shoulder in White says, the gel coat will need a ton of work, the floor, stringers, transom and core will all need replacing. Then he adds that by time you buy a trailer, build a motor, rebuild the jet drive, put in a new interior with gauges and a steering wheel in it you'll be well North of $15,000 plus your time on the hull. Then he asks, does that sound like what you want to do with all your free time and money for the next 2-3 years?

So which little devil are you going to take a baseball bat to and tell to shut up?
