Fishing deck on an '89 Enticer

So I know this project is going to raise a few eyebrows. I know that some will not like it. I know some of the purist will flip when they see this.

This was what I did today. I made it with the option of easy removal. I will upload more pictures as I get more done (for those interested). The vision that I see with it is I will be replacing the standard Checkmate bucket style seat with some more traditional ones. The deck will have a pedestal in the center with reinforced framing. The two larger openings will be rear storage with hinge type doors. I will upload my rough sketches during the holidays.

This will not be an overnight thing due to my Christmas schedule.

Mainly using it for a small fishing deck and storage.

Framing pretty much complete, only a few small details to finish. I ran out of daylight.

End going toward the bow

It's YOUR boat. I did a similar project on a tin boat a long times ago. The results were fun. Got me on the water a lot and the decks are so much more enjoyable to fish from .

Hard part is done, now I just have to figure out handle/ locking mechanism and then I will possibly mount a flush pedestal for seat.

Looks good! The thing I'd do different is to encapsulated the pieces in fiberglass and resin before adding carpet. Unless that's a temporary deck then it wouldn't matter.

This was definitely not a final thing. This was an experiment to see if I even had the patience to do it. If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all, so what can go wrong will go wrong when I'm working on stuff. Was my first attempt at this sort of thing. I'm interested to see how much the weight on the rear does to the way she sits in the water and how it reacts coming up on a plain now.

dont let it stop ya, i had a shadow mod v verry nice boat, wanted to take nose off and put a deck on it but everyone talked me out of it. Dont let people influence you not to i kick myself in the ass everyday for getting rid of it! Keep us posted
