Any person willing to drive a few hrs to Sandusky Bay, I suggest to take look at what the area has to offer. You might want to extented your stay. You have Cedar Point right there. The best amusement park in the world with a very nice marina. You can boat all day head to the marina, clean up and buy a evening pass to the park and stay the night at the marina.
Then you have the Islands (kelly's and Put-in-Bay) out in Erie, Both boaters paradise. Kelly's Island is in line of sight from the mouth of the bay. 6-7 miles out. It has plenty of marinas to pull into for a day stay or an overniter. It used to be a sleepy little onclave, but has grown into a fun stop daytime or nitetime. It can still get rough between but with the line of sight you'll feel securer. 21 ftrs and above should have no proplems- unless it starts getting ruffer 4+ ers.
Put-in-Bay is over the horizon about another 10-12 miles to the west. Great place anytime. its for the more adventurious, Taken the staflite over from the bay several times. One day ran over in 1-2 ftrs in 35 minutes, the next day headed back in 4-8 ftrs, it took 2.5 hrs to get back. Me and a 65 ft searay was the only boats on the water. So if you head on the big water be prepared to wait out the water anywhere from 6-24 hrs.
If a date ever gets set, I'll come down and make the run then head over to play in the big water (kelly's)
