HOW FAST IS YOUR CHECKMATE? EVERYONE!

1986 Exciter with a 1986 Mercury XR2 with some work done

Best speed to date is 65 mph

setup and load for posted speed: 86 18'-6" Exciter, 10" CMC Hydro jack plate, 150 2.0 XR2 with some work done to it, 1.87 lower with Bobs nose cone, 23p Mirage Plus, 30-32 Gallons of gas, 2 guys (450-500lbs), full gear (150 lbs) 6,900 RPM's

I think I will hit 70 mph with a better prop and lighter load...

Not true, I still have you at 67 on my gps:D

3.0 liter mercury carbed 225 with 1.62 geared lower. 81 Enticer. 21 pitch Solas 4 blade stainless prop. 71 MPH on the GPS at 5900 RPM with 2 adults and two kids. I'd imagine that with a prop made for speed it would go faster.

Wow its been a while since anyone posted here.
This was the first run on the boat since I bought it.
79 Eluder
79 Evinrude 175P V6
14-1/4" 21 pitch prop, not sure what brand it was on the boat when I bought it last week.
With almost full tank of gas 2 large people( 205 and 320ish) and 1 kid 100 pounds or so we hit 50 and 51 around 5200 rpm on GPS today. Lake was fairly smooth.

81 Enticer. 1994 260 Mercury 2.5 EFI. 23 pitch prop. 77 MPH. OK . I wasnt pushing it hard. Thats enough of that silliness though. Back to a 150 Merc. 65 MPH with the same prop.

Something doesn't sound right. You should be on the limiter with that 21 I think.

My tach could be off? I am not sure what max RPM is for that motor. I don't think I was trimmed out enough when we did our first speed test.
How sensitive to weight are these boats and outboard engines? Had a pretty good load in it. Also is 50mph what I should be getting in an Eluder with a 175?

LOOKING FOR MORE SPEED!!

Hello, I have a 1994 Pulsare 2100 LD. My current set up is a 1998 Merc promax 300 with a sportmaster 1.62 gearcase. 12" of setback with a hydralic jackplate. 30" fourblade prop. I am barely hitting 80mph on gps turning at about 6000 rpm. I feel like it has more in it, but dont know where to start.

83 enchanter 83 200 blackmax, 6" manual jp, boysen reeds, 68-69 gps 25p turbo precision . I know I can get her over 70 with the right conditions and prop still searching wish me luck

65 GPS with a 24 pitch big ear chopper at 6200 RPM on a 2:1 lower unit . 150 Merc with a bit more compression. No jack plate. 1981 Enticer.

the best I have had our ZT280 502Mag at high altitude is 66... average is around 63, 64 with the whole family running a 23p marige plus at 4600 RPM... I am goin to try a Bravo 22p this spring hoping for the same speed and much better holeshot with mid range... the Mirage plus has to much slip and no handling.

'91 Convincor 251 w/stock 454 mag. 23P Mirage. Only tried for a best once, but it was 61.5 GPS with 1/2 tank of gas and 4 people in the boat. Would love to go faster but that will be a while.

New to the forum and after reading this thread I realized that mine is definitely one of the slowest on this forum. My specs are listed below, would love to see 50MPH
1977 Trimate, Evenrude 135 V4, No tilt or trim, Beat up aluminum 13x15p prop gets me 42 on the GPS with 9 gallons of gas and two adults 185LBS and 120LBS. RPM's, no clue since I don't have a guage yet.

Looking at a OMC SS 3 Blade 13x21 or
Solas HR Titan 4 Blade 13x21

Am I on the right path? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really like the Titan props. That that 21 pitch number with a grain of salt though. Ive run a 21 pitch Titan behind a 260 HP Merc 75 MPH before my balls gave out. It could have done 80 easy. The Titan 4 blade will blow the OMC prop out of the water because its really more like a 24 pitch. Even the 19 pitch Titan 4 Ive got on my 150 right now with a 2:1 lower will go 58 MPH without eben trying hard.
