I just got in a new 21 Liberator. Going to Australia

So how do you get hooked up with a overseas sale? Does the customer call Liberator and get referred to you or do they look you up direct and you order what they want?

Any way you slice it, still great looking boats! I have seen some of Randy's work up close and I can tell ya first hand, if there were any flaws when he started, they were gone when he was finished! His paint and rigging is pure art!

I'm sure there all perfect. i see all the detail and custom work he puts into them. I was just wondering what he has to start with. If you have ever delt with car parts custom or oem there never right and need working. So to get a raw hull that is ready for paint is amazing!

No, unfortunatly, if someone calls Liberator and tells them they live a mile from me and want a Liberator, he won't tell them about me and will try to make the sale himself. He has sold at least 3 or 4 within 200 miles of me without mentioning to them that I am his dealer. Checkmate, on the other hand is VERY loyal to it's dealers.
When I sell boats or motors overseas, it's usually due to referals. I sold some motors to a few Australian guys and they were very happy. Then they tell thier buddys and it just grows from there. They have no problem sending the money up front because I took care of thier friends. I sold a pair of used 300XS motors to the Virgin Islands last summer. He told his brother who called me today and is going to buy the 225 Opti's off my new 28 Checkmate. Now the 28 will get new 300's
I also get alot of calls from people that see my videos on Youtube..
Reputation will make you or break you!

Thank you, for documenting this build up

I think it's really great of you to do this for us. I was wondering if the taping your doing to lay down the stripes is all by eye/hand, is there any aids to get them strait or is it all just practice/technique and redoing it if it's off a little.

What paint products do you use/prefer? Do you know if some/all of the other high end builder/painters use the same. I'm wondering about Mitcher T./T.O.A.D. and what the MTI, Nortech or Outerlimits factories do. Is it epoxy based products? Are they tricky to use?

I untaped the violet pearl today. Next color is a darker purple called Passion Pearl

The deck will be pearl orange, but he wants a big Iron Cross in the center. I guess it's an Aussie thing. I made the template today.

i do not understand the flames thing on the newer checkmate's.

the first reaction overhere in Europe would be "the owner wants to burn the boat, that's not a good thing"

there you can see the change in people of different continents.

Checkmate has not done flames since 2007.

I think he may be thinking of this one.

There is also a red one for sale on line.

I got the medium "Passion Purple Pearl" on today. I also taped out the Iron Cross on the deck.

Just thinking.
Is there inspections of your work by Liberator since your a dealer and not just a guy customizing there product? I mean if you do a half azz paint job or bad rigging that would make the brand look bad. Thats not good for them! Just wondering how it works.

I'm liking that Passion Purple Pearl its gonna look good.

I am the only dealer other than the factory. All I can say is that the two rig jobs are very different. Alot of my boats are on their websites.

Just wondering if you had factory boundries. Would they be cool with a kkk boat, or anti gay paint. Of course this would not happen but I'm wondering if you have restictions on what you can do?
