I'm starting to like Jet drives

Sterling Update........ Yeee Haaa!

Finally had 2 days off in a row, Sunday and Monday. Got off work Saturday at 8:00 pm and started working on the boat, quit at 3:00 am. Went back to work on it Sunday 8:30 am. Got everything done at 3:00 pm called my buddy's camp at the lake to let him know I was on my way. I only packed some tools a change of cloths my tooth brush and a pillow LOL! Had a few minor problems when I got there but with a bunch of help from my friends we got it on the water just before dark and I LIKE IT :thumb: Got the last few bugs worked out Monday morning and ran it for about 2 hrs. Burned 22 gallons of gas with 1.9 on the hour meter LOL! Oil pressure was perfect, temp was perfect, looks sweet on the water, handles like a dream and seems to be really fast! I raced an STV with a 150 Merc and totally spanked him! He said his STV runs 70 on GPS so the old Sterling must be getting it done. I think that's damn good for a jet boat. I was a lil hard on it but I was told that after break to just run it the way I intend to use it. Everything is looking just fine so far and that's cool. Some dude asked me if I wanted to sell it......told him to take a hike LOL!
Will try and get some on the water pics next time out :thumb:

Sterling Project

well it's 99% Done :thumb:
1.9 hours run time, 27 quarts of race oil, 6 new oil filters, 20 plus gallons of high test and it"s almost done in time for winter LOL!

I think this is the best thread ever in this site and its not even a Checkmate. Very cool boat.

Sterling Project

Very well done! Any more pics, videos, or a GPS speed?
No vids or new pics just yet but I'm going on a trip this weekend and will have some on the water pics when I get back. GPS, no way, the numbers will just make me want to run 5 mph faster. I think it's fast unough to get me wet if I act stupid in it so that's good enough for now LOL :thumb:

Not Too Outrageous

That interior looks real good. Its classy and not too outrageous like some of the restos you see.

Thanks illMATTic

No GPS test, don't really know what it runs, I'm thinking 75 to 77, had a blast with it, pulled the mufflers out and put the Cam2 in!

A good time was had by all except one of our gang. We lost a boat on Friday, the nose held a big pocket of air so didn't go to the bottom. He is just fine but his brand new big block blower motor got a lil wet :brickwall: I will try and get get some pics of the recovery up before long, thank God for friends and a floating dock :thumb:
