lake cumberland poker run!

Excellent, Let me know if you need help organizing it. Jim from Sandy Beach Marina has talked about going down there as well so maybe he could lend some support as well

that would be great, the more support we can get the better the turn out. i am glad to see this take off like it has.:D

Likewise, i have been going to LC since i was a kid and ever since i purchased my mate i thought it would be a great place for an event. I would rather drop cash going down there than getting a beating on Erie.

cumberland is a great all around lake. it is big enough for big events and still small enough to have privacy. the more central location might bring out a lot more boats from the south and west.

we are trying to get a date set so everyone can make plans. once we do that i think everything else will be easy. i am amazed at the responce already!

Any weekend other than the 4th I'll try to make a bonzi run down for it.But if it lands on the 4th weekend I will look in to having a house boat for the Misses and I + others. She never been, but always wanted to do the houseboat thing. If she not really intrested with it. I can be down early thursday getting an early campsite by water near the dam. Either way I'm 99.9% I'm there on the 4th

alright everybody we got to get us a date. what about july 10 or july 17? does anyone have any other suggestios? if one of these will work for everyone lets narrow it down.

First you need to see if the powers that be at Checkmate Inc.
have any interest in a Lake Cumberland event and what dates
they had in mind if any, then opinions on dates will matter!
If they are "in" then the date will materialize - If they are "not in"
then we know to start looking at planning an unsanctioned event
at which point that date will materialize. Just a suggestion and
my take on the matter, but I sure am tired of winter already!!

Damn it's cold:shakehead:

I am waiting for Kip to respond with if they are "in" or "not in" on it. Either date in july will work if it is a non-sanctioned event.........OUTLAW CHECKMATE POKER RUN:devil: kind of has a ring to it. I would much rather have checkmate backing this event tho. Lets see what this week has to offer from Kip and checkmate and if they are not interested, we will go ahead and start some plans.

it looks like ther are 10 or 12 people interested just from this forum. i know of 3 or 4 that hang out on cumberland that will be thier. we can probably post stuff on oso and lc.com and get more people. if c/m wants to help out that would be great, just trying to get an idea of a date that works for everyone.

I'm thinking about making the trip with Checkmate in tow. That is if small slow Check's are welcome.:D
Got some family in Tennessee only 60 miles from Lake C.
I'll be watching for date and a ramp.

everyone is welcome, come on to cumberland. keep watching for the date.

The 10th works better for me.I can take some days from the front of my vacation and move them to the rear, giving me off to the 13th.

SENIORTY SUCKS  TILL YOU HAVE IT!:D

I think I will try to make it. I think that it may be more important to talk with Dave Mills at C-Hawk trailers as he always seems to do some of the work for the Checkmate Event. I think Kip and Dave would be great contacts. Where is their to stay at?

Thanks,

jason

thier will be plenty of plces to stay, you can go to any of these web sights conley bottom, lake cumberland state dock, grider hill marina, jamestown resort and marina and get all of the info. if i can help just let me know.:D

We should talk to someone about getting a group of rooms so we are all staying at the same place. Any ideas where to stay and who we would need to talk to? It may be a good idea to reserve some rooms for this in the near future.

Thanks,

Jason

Cumberland....

I will talk to powers that be about this. I will garranty me and 4 or 5 boats from up this way will come down regardless. Don't think " Checkmate Marine " will get as involved as full sponsership .....but maybe in some fashion. Dave @ C-Hawk would most likely say same thing. Seams that the less organized events like this are ....the more fun they are ! Long as everyone knows when to show up...... sure it would be a great time ! No or less liability that way....that's what scares companys away from events like this.
