Mistress IV - The Conception

Badass.

Who did the install? Any lessons learned?

Unlimited Marine in Russell Springs, KY. Really good guys there and they know their way around a V-Rod. No real lessons learned other than its now a 14 week lead time for one of these babies. See my latest post about the install, it was pretty un-eventful.

I went with the neutral skeg. Really no need for a cambered one on this hull.

I opted for the camberd skeg, on my 300 when running the Simon ECU at 73 mph trimed out proper & at 1" below i had to give more right steering input & could feel the torque in the steering wheel not so on the 400 with trims set for 78 mph (best speed so far) steering is very neutral :)

Got " racing 400' ready to go in yellow and silver strippes.

I was thinking of just doing the red accents in yellow. The racing part is not decals they are applied carbon fiber looking letters. The "400" is just outlined striping over the black.

I like having some feedback thru the helm rather than a neutral feel. Lets me know she's hooked up.

Granted can't get rid of all the torque still have to input a bit of left steering but it's sooo much less than on my 300 when running equal high X #'s :)

Ok damn it, I know for a fact it was a nice weekend at Cumberland!!! What are the numbers? lol

Well, no numbers to report yet. Had to get the steering re-bled thursday then on friday I caught a nice summer bug that kept me in bed the entire beautiful weekend:pissed:. So she sits in my garage looking all pretty waiting for me to take her out for a romp. Stay tuned my friend its only a matter of time now. :thumb:

Hmmm, I never really had that issue with my 300 the torque was always very manageable at any trim position.

Not mine, to get my best speeds my trim would normaly be at the 2nd to 3rd line on the gauge, heavier bow, different prop, different setup than your LD & my X dim at 1" to 1-1/2" below, different animal i guess :)

You have twice the setback so your x was a bit higher which makes sense. Sounds like trim angle is similar.

Hey Jeff, how's it hanging? putting some time on your 400R? what's your impression? talk to us

Should have it out this friday. Been sick and had a wedding this past weekend & now Im in NC till thursday this week. This weekend is a must since Thunder Run is next weekend !!!

Finally had a chance to get her out and start breaking her in. I have about 6 hrs on it now and I am very impressed!!! The SM gearcase added a whole new dimension of handling, ride quality and the ability to increase my X dim so far by 2" over the pro300, which puts me about 1/2" above the pad and I feel there is still more to go. The prop Im starting with is a 26p (25.3) Bravo FS and currently was able to see 78mph @ 6800-16% slip, with 2 people and a full load of frosty bev's. and 3/4 tank of fuel. It was wonderful to be able to run 75 with impunity and still have more hammer to drop!!! And, I was able to vanquish a couple of Baja's in the process!! :bigthumb:

Niiice :bigthumb: i knew you'd be impressed although not the numbers you were expecting it does get better, i started at 75 mph alone with 1/2 tank & now with little over 22 hrs on the 400 & with a buddy on board, 3/4 fuel in the tank + gear & toys i'm at 78 mph & 6800 rpm with my worked 24 Bravo at 1/2" below, but what i like best, like you, is that i can run with 3 other buddies on board, gear, toys & beer + 3/4 fuel on board at 70 mph & 6300 rpm & still have room for a few more mph.....thats cool  you should be hitting 80 + in short order :thumb:

I'm living through you guys until mine comes in:thumb: It was supposed to have shipped from the factory June 1st:sleep: I don't know the reasons yet but very anxious:bounce: Maybe their trying to squeeze in a few more horses:eyecrazy:
