My new enchanter!

Figure most know about it already. I have had my eye on this for 2 years now. I was at my neighbors marina when the owner dropped it off then for them to sell. When I spotted it, I stopped mid sentence to stare it it. Had to walk over and check it out. An amazing shape boat that the rear seat was cracked up and the carpet needed replaced. When I found out the history it made it that much more appealing! First owner bought it and took it out 1 time for less than a hour. It was to fast for his family boat so it traded it back to the dealer for a different "slower" boat. Thats when this guy bought it. It was garage stored half the year and covered with the checkmate cover when ever it was not on the water. Only thing not original is the lower unit, and it was replaced with a alpha unit several years ago. This boat is truly an unmolested survivor if I have ever seen one! All the wood is solid and the engine compartment looks as good as my green boat did.......minus the stock motor vs my built motor! I was going to pick it up wed and put it on my trailer and do some cleanup and start removing the interior for new skins but got busy. I am in no rush, it will be stored in the heated showroom till spring time. It will make an awesome family boat to cruise around in.
Very dusty pics of it!

Its now sitting on a tandem axle galv bunk trailer. I am swapping it over to my trailer from "Wasted Income" and also installing my teak swim platform. When I say its original, it still has cardboard insulators between the gel and the gauges. They look like trim rings! I am digging the 2 knob radio spot as well.... might spring for a upgrade :). I talked to Mike @ Checkmate last week and will call him tomorrow to get me on the list for skins but might change the color layout. I also want black carpet instead of grey.

Do you really think you can leave the motor alone???
Yes.
I am still looking for a 30'er that I will build the motor in. Water sports was a big part of my life till I got hurt. I want the same for my kids. They love the tube and both want to learn to ski. A 30 would not be a boat for doing any of the above so the plan all along was to keep "Wasted Income" and swap a stock motor back in once I got a big boat. Even tho I can't do it anymore, I can still live through my kids!!
This is my 4th Enchanter and I love the hull design! 1~150 merc, 2~200johnny, 3~"Wasted Income" 4~this one....

This is one of the most classic checkmates made in the 80's..... if only they would flake out a new one. Throwback style is in now a days!!:bigthumb:

I see that there was some truth to the rumour. I like it. The pictures I've seen so far scream "Drive Me". Looks like it is in really nice shape. Right now, since it sounds like it is in original condition, do you think a beat up little Playmate could even keep up with it? You're a Yup.

I don't want none of that playmate....I'll just cruise:thumb:

I do hear that RNGRDVE has a sugar-n-sand and is looking for a piece of dat mate of yours!! But you ain't heard that from me :sssh:

Hey YF, I must state here again that I'm very envyous of the vessels available out there in your neighborhood. I hope to find something similar out here one of these days. Have not heard of a rumour of RNGR spanking the Platmate as of yet, but you know I live way out in the sticks, and news sometimes travels slow. If RNGR does get a peice of the Mate, I'm hopein he gives it back so I can figure out how to put it back on. With my close up eyesight gettin so bad, He may have blown past me so fast that I didn't even see it.

The difference in this one is I know what the boat is. Did not have someone lying about the condition trying to pass it off as something that it ain't been in a number of years. Since my neighbor owns the marina it was brokered at, and the head mechanic there is the only one who worked on it, I know what this one is!

Will be hard for me to travel any distance like I did on that 303. For some reason people lie about condition as if I wouldn't see it when I got there :irked:
