My New ride; checkmate convinsor 259

Got the solution on getting the trailer on the road in the EU. This is making me smile the whole evening.
Planning to sell the trailer to UK, and buy it back. Than i can proof that the trailer is a UK trailer. No plates than and its getting the small plate wich normally is on trailers till max 1500. That plate is normally for small trailers and is the number of your car. That is the only way to get it to EU roads without a inspection and i am on the road.
Putting a UK decal on the rear and youre done. If i can proof its an UK billed trailer i am good.
Got a tip on the dutch boating forums. There are some guys riding their USA trailer with only a UK proof of origin. And they are putting UK sticker on it, a small plate with the same number as the towing vehicle and they are fine.
Brakes and lights have to be correct. Also an rear lights extension on it. Thats easy to make.
The UK is the only country who dont have there trailers on their own plate. They have the plate of the towing car in white. We only know that in Holland for the trailers till 750kg or 1500lbs.

Imagine, that trailer has never been in the UK. I love the EU rules.. Not. But there are always ways to get around it. But where to look and who to ask is the question.

Doing an update on this.

I flew wednesday to the USA. Starting road trip with Brian on thursday. Picked it up at grand sport centre thursday late. Took off to Tom klaman and had a good time at his house with Tom and Vicky.

Brian and jess had a hotel and i wanted to sleep in the boat. Just to decide if the sleep was good on my back on the bed in front of the boat. Think about to add some to get a comfort sleep.

The boat is better than i expected. Runs good, a little to slow for the size with the 310 7.4mpi in it.
Going to change trailer tyres for new. We did make a EU to USA trailer hitch for my truck in Holland so towing is no problem when its in Amsterdam arrive.

I get greedy now, cant stop staring at it. We did the brookville raft up on saturday and it was my first non cm boating event and i loved it!!
The insurance issue isnt solved yet. To take it to rally.
I dont boat without it. So thinking about shipping it this year.

I get a good price on tires at work. If you get me the size I will get you some options and prices.

Don't forget to fill er up with gas before you leave.
That should save you a few hundred bucks.:surf:

I may be wrong, but I doubt they allow any gas in the tank while its on a container ship....Otherwise I'd be shipping containers full of gas to Europe for profit! :D

Do they still sell the larger diesel Land Cruiser? 4.2td?
A boating buddy in Dublin has an older one he uses for towing all his boats. Just wondered if it would be cheaper for running costs.

Those are going up in price like crazy. Lots of people want them overhere.

Dont know yet what i want. First transport the boat to NL.

We have been working on trailer to get it better. New tires wheelbearing and hitch. It has a good trailer but i wanted it to be better. Dont have the right tyres overthere and i replaced them all.
Its going to be shrinkwrap today. And after that its ready. To hit the road to Baltimore
Did request some shipping quotes by several roro companys. Did not get it back yet. Leaving tomorrow for Amsterdam again.
