SCT's New Pulsare

I finally ran the boat yesterday. These "x" motors are ALOT stronger than the older 300 ProMax motors!! 90+ will ne no problem with this rig. The motor turned a 27' 4 blade Trophy with no problem out of the hole. The boat ran nice and stable. And except for a few problems to fix the boat was great!

Just got an update from SCT. He's still breaking in the motor, but he's already running mid 80's at 5700 rpms......

I think the 300X is a 6800 rpm motor?

I've had the boat out a couple of times now. I have approx. 1.5 hrs on the engine. I've had really no problems except for the main oil tank not priming and filling the resovior tank. I'm going to lower the motor from even with the bottom to 1/2' to 3/4' below the bottom to see how the boat handles.
Like JW posted, I saw 84 at approx. 5700 on the GPS speedometer. After the break in period, the rev limiter is 6800 rpm. So low to mid 90s should be no problem.

That's sweet SCT!

That boat is a beast! Your choice of colors and rigging is outstanding...the only thing I would have done different is a hyd. jack plate for ease of adjustment to my needs... skiing, cruising, top-end, etc.

Are you running a Sportmaster with 1.62 or 1.75 gears???
How much set-back???
Is that prop a large or small hub 27p 4-blade Trophy???
Is it box stock or a lab modified prop???

I can't wait to see some GPS #'s after break-in...
I want a R-I-D-E!!!

If you are seeing 84 mph @5700 then you should be pushing 100mph if you can turn 6800rpm!

Jrmon,

The new 300x only comes with the 1.62 gearcase (SM) now. You can not get the 1.75. The boat has 12" of setback. The prop is untouched, but I'm going to have it labbed and balanced after the motor is broke in.

Latest Update:

My mechanic just checked over the motor after me putting 10+ hrs on the 300X. It is running perfect via the ECUs. He opened it up and had 91 mph on the gps speedo/ at 5800 rpm (27' Trophy). We have a ton of rpm to work with! We are going to try a small diameter 26' Trophy. It should get the rpms up in the mid 6000s. It will be a solid 95 mph boat once it is dialed in.

175Cmate- I think you are right on the speed. I need to try a few different props, though.

I'll post a pix of the speedometer next weekend. I love the feature on my gps speedometer that allows you to recall your top speeed after the run is over.

Now is anyone interested in buying the boat now that is almost dialed in??

SCT, did you install a foot throttle in that monster? I would think 2 hands on the wheel would be a good thing at that speed.
