To Eco-Boost, or not to Eco-Boost!?

Well, pulled the trigger on a new F150 Lariat, loaded up, and with the 5.0. It was sad to see the ol' Chevy go, but it sure is nice rolling in a new truck. I will post pictures soon.
I think If i was gonna get a new 1-F50 (as Oscar at my work calls them) I would also get the 5.0...them things sound REALLY good at WOT and high rpms:banana:...their both....or all 3 good motors so far. Congadulations.

Thanks! Yeah, that 5.0 sounds great, and it's all the motor we will need.

The Roush exhaust really makes them bark! Not sure if it's in the cards...yet:devil:

Rumour out here on the West Coast that there are a few complaints concerning driveability problems associated with cool damp weather with the v6. The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration is looking into it, apparently. Be interesting to see if there is any merit to the complaints or not.

Well folks, here she is. 2013 F150 Lariat, 5.0, 4x4, leather, nav, sunroof, and all the goodies. It even has the "old man" step built into the tailgate...my son likes making fun of me for that one!

Nice Truck!!! The funny thing is a few years ago chevy had a commercial that made fun of both fords tailgate step and dodge's heated steering wheel. now chevy has put steps in their bumpers and heated steering wheels. I do really like the step in the ford tailgates and so does my 5ft wife. better than having to crawl up in the back of the truck when the tailgate is down.

Chevy avalance has had side bumper steps since 01. Best thing ever. The ford step is in the way of using it and doing any real pickup worthy work.

It still suffers many of the Eco-Boost issues though. I imagine it uses much of the same sensors and electronics. The thing falls on its face during rain/damp days and has unpredictable powertrain responses at times.

I just traded in my 05 f150 for a new 2013 supercrew 6.5 box ecoboost and so far i love it! I have not towed with it yet, only 900 miles on it so far, Millage is 13-16 mostly city driving, cold weather and winter blend, unreal power, i am driving it like i stole it though for break in! I did get the 3.31 gears because im never gonna pull 10,000 pounds with it, more like 6000 at the most if i ever get a bigger boat. I am getting the Roush phase 1 kit that kicks out another 50 hp and 86 flbs. I do not like the station wagon sound so exhaust will be coming just not the roush because it sounds horrible on the eco, stainless works or full race, would love the borla but it does not side exit and is kinda pricey in my eyes! There are guys with these trucks getting over 400 hp and 500 lbs at the wheels! just sick!!!
