Want to twin rig 300xs motors on my 2400 BRX

Will the splash well accommodate two motors or are you going to put them back into another zip code?

There have been several enforcers with twins but I've never seen your boat rigged that way.

You are 1st going to have to do some serious glasswork to the inside of your transom. The splattercoat on the outboard sides of the transom past the knees will have to be ground away and you'll have to glass/bond another layer of marine ply to both sides to make them as thick as the transom that is centered between the two transom knees. Adding a second pair of knees would not hurt either but that would entail notching out your floor that is found on the outboard sides of each transom knee. On the BRX you have access to reach under the floor to bond the new knees. I would also bond the entire rear deck/hull joint with a 6" wide strip of 1708 glass and epoxy resin. L bracket all your joints where you mount the motors and use wide backing plates to distribute the load. Good luck!!! Sounds like an exciting project!!:thumb:

cheers everyone. yes we will work the transom nicely to get the strength needed. It should push real nice with two motors. 90MPH would be good with strong acceleration. And a top boat for the water sports. Could be a perfect mix.

I'm going to put some buckets in the front as well and remove the swivel seats which are terrible. The swivel bases are crap and bend all the time. I had to cut inspection hatches into the seat bases to undo the bolts.

lower seats would be nice so the windscreen screens the wind.
