Well you all can officially welcome me to the Checkmate family!

That is a very nice boat! I looked at it at the factory as they were finishing it. It was originally rigged with a 350 mag just to see how fast it would run. If I remember right it ran over 50 with the small block. Also, good to see another one of Mother Mopar's offspring in a Checkmate!

Really a 350 mag in a 300
Who was smoking the crack to decide that dumb combo
That boat needs at LEAST the 496.

It's rigged with a 496 ho now. I think the original idea when Kunkel's marine ordered it was to put in the cheapest possible power because they where going to re-power as soon as they got it any way. Or something like that...

It had a 572 car motor in it at one point...

I just so happens I have a 750 H.P. Ray Barton race hemi sitting in the garage for my 71 Challenger build. I Wonder if that can be made to work in the boat? I think it would rev up to high for boat use though.

I think they were going to use the 350 mag in something else and yes, repower that boat. It was just in there long enough to water test it and see how fast it was. 50+ is not bad for that boat with a 350.

Sweet boat! Haven't seen a lot of "Big Stuff" moving lately and good to see some more boats getting sold.

Welcome to the "black hole" for time.

That makes sense. Just surprised it didn't get a cheap bb so everything would fit/line up when it was swapped.

I posted a pic somewhere on the board with a boat that had 2 528 hemis all custom work. I will dig it up later

I know right. How bad ass would a big 600" Hemi be in a checkmate! Still I don't know how practical a Hemi would be for boat use. All these high performance marine engine builders and making 7-800 horse power on 87 octain! I don't know if you could get a hemi to do that. At least on 87...

there is a wood 40' cat at a high performance marine dealer in ct. that has 2 of these in it. I don't think you could get one to fit in a checkmate though.
lamborghini v-12 - I was told the distibutor cap alone cost 1300.00

Mopar or No car!:D Checkmate or No Boat!
:rof:

Nice boat man!! Love the flames! I thought maybe with your screen name starting with "SRT" you might have an SRT Mopar, that's also a nice Challenger you got too!! I'm die-hard Mopar myself, i've gotta few classic muscle Mopars ('68 and '69 Chargers, and a '71 Demon 340) and a modern muscle 2010 Challenger R/T Classic, man i love that car, the 6 speed sure is fun stir!! That Ray Barton Hemi would be sick in that Convincor!! My dream would be to marinize a 6.1L SRT, or the new 392 Hemi, for my Enchanter!! You're in PA, ever go to the Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals?? My father and me, plus a few buddies, go every year, stay thursday-sunday, we are there for the WHOLE thing!! Last several years we've brought down my dads '70 Cuda 440, i've had my '69 Charger their one year too. Anyways, congrats on the boat, and always nice to meet another Mopar guy!!

Yup, congrats on a very cool boat. And, I too am diggin the SRT8 Chally. I had an '09 Charger SRT8 and I loved that car. But, I hated the way the Tahoe that I had towed my 253 so I traded in the SRT8 on a new truck.

Congrats again.

Congrats. Great boat for a great price.

I was just over at Kunkels two weeks ago and looked it over to make sure it was still just as nice as last time I seen it.
