What do you pull your checkmate with??

huge:shakehead: try a 32' fountain:poke: oops forgot you don't have mopar under the hood:lol:

put it this way I can pull 8,900 lbs with my half ton Ford. I couldnt pull my dads four winns with a half ton dodge because of the rear coil springs . Would have had to go to a 3/4 ton .Now a half ton Ford no prob.

With the abbreviated heading stating "What do you pull your................"

I'm really surprised hotdaddy27 isn't all over this.

hotdaddy's was thinking of posting a pic of his right hand !:poke:

You are right about the right hand, but insert "your wife's" before it!

I know you are a little slow, so lets recap "your wife's" + "right hand"
="your wifes right hand"

Yeah, that's what I pull with....

i am talking a 5.9-360/ not a 5.2 318:poke: NO FORD will pull ANYTHING like a dodge and that is a fact! i will give you the facts if you need them:sleep:

I'd like the facts...Whats that lil tired 360 pushin HP/Torq. Ross???

What rear end do you have??

This is showing 245 hp. No torque numbers though, and a max GVRW of 6600 lbs. http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/spec_engines.aspx?year=2001&make=Dodge&model=Ram%201500&trimid=-1

I'll show you the sticker on my door that says 8900 lbs GVRW when you see my truck.

You wanna talk current HP ratings then I can't compare. Mopar has one helluva motor with that 5.7. But the 5.4 in my truck is pretty well neck and neck with Pauls off stop lights and that....

The new dodge ram 1500 has coil springs in the rear:
2500 and 3500 will remain leaf springs

So you had to MOD your truck to get it to the STOCK HP of my truck? Come on man...:)

Do all the research you want. My truck is 300hp/365 ft/lbs STOCK. Should get another 10-12hp and 15-20ft/lbs or so once I get my exhaust...But that takes $$ ya know? (and of course those numbers are taken from www.f150online.com so take them for what its worth. I'm hoping for some better fuel economy (19mpg empty just isn't enough ;) and some sound of course!!!)

I have yet to find anything that says the 360 in 01 had 275 stock...

Heres another site. 245hp/355 ft/lbs...Its not a standard motor in the 01 1500's as I'm sure you know. Someone ordered it just for you!

Heres some info on GVRW etc....

Heres some info on the new ford.

I could go all night. But I won't.

As far as gas mileage goes, I'll lay a case of beer down that those dodges will NEVER use that MDS while pulling a trailer. Kens 08 gets 12mpg pulling the sleds/gear north...No MDS when in Tow/Haul...Unless the MDS is working and w/o it you'd get 5mpg! But who cares about mileage...ITS A TRUCK!!!!!

As long as it does what you want it to do, gets you where you need to go, will smoke the rear tires at a moments notice, and turn some heads while doing so...Its the best possible truck at any one given time!!!!

I was a diehard Chevy guy. But don't miss that truck at all. I'll be back to give a review of the F-150 when it has 195,000 miles on it like my Chevy did when I traded it off.

Oh and did Dodge think that they were that much better then Ford to not include them in ALL of the tests? Must not sell enough of them either...First auto maker to file Chapter 11....GM is next...

Here's my o2 I will out run and out pull all of you with my 81 Dodge 1 ton with a 1500 pound bed pulling my boat laughing all the way with no truck payment. And the new Chevy is the ugliest truck i have ever seen in my life. It looks like a transformer from a McDonald's kids meal.

My Dodge 1 ton your nightmare

Anyway who's going to the lake this weekend

and how did this thread turn into a make fun on other peoples vehicle thread???

Ross and I are always at each other regaurding trucks etc...Its what friends do when you sit around and have a few beers!

Just tryin' to keep the Die Hard Dodge guy honest is all. ;) (Its a challenge :))

No making fun of vehicles at all. Or at least that wasn't my intensions. He just kept talking specs so I posted some up...

His truck must be a good one thats for sure! He beat (used to) the living crap out of that poor thing night after night and its still going strong! BTW its one of the best looking dodges of that era too!

I can agree with the above poster on the new Chevy's too....They beat them with an UGLY stick!!!

no more truck bashing....they're all the same and do the same job....they all break and all pull our boats....enough said!! i also wasn't a big fan of the look of my 08 silverado at first but one drive and it was a match made in heaven....best truck i've ever owned....and with the MAX package 11,500lb towing capacity with 384hp stock...and can get 23-24mpg pulling my checkmate in 4cyl mode(Displacement on Demand engine)
