Wickedrister's winter project

Actually its just like we used to do it. there is a little yellow box in the toolbar above the text area and you click on it then paste your link into it.

Wicked, I like the what you did with the seat boxes. Is the bottom portion of the inside boards missing or is it an optical illusion from the angle of the photo?

TR, the tops were still open in that pic. I left the factory glass matt in place as a pattern when I tore everything apart. It was rough cleaning out all the wet foam and rotted wood yet keep the matt shells in tact but it worked out ok. New 1/2" marine plywood was cut and installed inside the matt boxes using screws, glue, glass and matt. The lids were made twice as thick as the sides and I installed threaded ss-ancors fot the seat bolts. I also left a small hole in the bottom of each seat box at the low point so water could run out if needed. "I know overkill but this is my first boat re-do"

Wicked, I was reading a thread on Scream and fly that discussed whether or not to wax the bottom of the boat. Some were claiming that it actually made it faster but most agreed that waxing actually slowed it down, making it kind of sticky and draging in the water. Its just something to think about if top end is what you want.

Wax IS slow, very slow put it this way, wax a section of you boat/ car/ mother in law whatever. Now spray the section with water. Do you see the water beading up on the surface? right each of those beads is held there by FRICTION, the enemy of speed. If you want to try a coating to increase speed try a company called Silon Compounds they make some really cool products.
