Yellowfiero's playmate resto!

So everything is done except a few little things. got the gauges done, fuel system is done. I need to charge the battery, add some terminals onto the battery cables, and install the tube for the speedo onto the lower unit.

With it that close, I got the trailer ready over the weekend. I only got a couple of pics but will get more tomorrow.

Black hammerite paint, LED lights and new bunks. I got the boat back on the trailer but it was too dark for pics of it all done. I need to get it finished tomorrow and might even fire it up. Will have better pics tomorrow.

I will say I had to move the boat up about 6" so it had tounge weight......... It was very light before the motor swap and setback bracket. The transom is now even with the back of the trailer with about 10-12% of the load tounge weight with only 1 gallon in the 12g tank. Should ride nice!

ready for a test run?
Yep click the link. I fired it by accident at first. I was going through checking all the electrical worked, bumped to key to make sure the ignition worked and it roared to life. I could not believe how quick it fired, less than a second long bump of the key. Guess thats what happens when you chose a real mota oh-va a fishin mota:lol:.

Things that need addressed, 1~warning buzzer keeps beeping non stop. 2~ tach not working. 3~ needs battery terminals on main leads to motor 4~ still got air in the steering

MK I thought you would like that first pic :thumb: The frame is to small tho. Had to bend your phone # under the rails!!

HAHA.. those old mercs sure do fire up easily.

You should know that friggin fishmota owners ain'tina hurry for no startin let alone boat drivin:D

Looks great dude!

Ouch, That left a scar! :shakehead:
I'm just playin... I love fishin motas. Had an 225HO Johnson on my Exciter that was an animal.:thumb:

Ask CheckThis if I like em, he'll tell ya....... oh..... wait a minute, thats right he got banned after he pissed everyone off when he was bashing on our "fishing motors" as he called them. Now thats just funny :D

Brian, any more progress on the buzzer?

It is the 2 stroke oil tank sender. Unplugged the wire and its fixed:bigthumb:. I plan on premixing the oil, just never trusted the injection. All it takes is a piece of dirt to clog the oil line and bang goes the motor. Got the battery terminals on as well. new winch on the front of the trailer. Damn if I forgot to hook the bilge pump and anchor light up so that's done now also. Got a call into faria on the setting for the tach as I did not get destructions with it.

I think for a long time coming, johnny-rudes will be called fishin motas, no matter how well they run!!!

All gauges are working, all lights glow, now hopefully she floats and goes:bigthumb: Its going to be 85* here tomorrow so guess where I will be at:bounce:

Epic failure today. Got to the river and put her in and she fired right up. Got the vest out of the truck and as I was getting on the boat, it died. 4 hours later, 2 trips to the parts store and 1 to walmart for tools I didn't have and it still dont run. Going out now to see if I can find the problem.:brickwall::pissed::brickwall:

WTH!!!!!! The motor was running fine in the yard on muffs. Paint the motor white and turn into a fish n mota.:D

I might as well, all the fishin guys were standing on shore wettin a line as well!

Found out the key sheered on the flywheel somehow. I had it cranked down as tight as I could but I guess it was not tight enough. I got it all back together and took it to the river again where I had to wait in line as a gaylinner could not get his outdrive to come up. They had the entire ramp blocked and another asshole just left hit truck parked in the middle of the ramp while he went out boating:shakehead:. Only in Hamilton!!! I helped the guy get his drive up and got the playmate backed in. She fired up right away but was lacking power, but I took her out hoping it would clear up. About 600' from the ramp I found a major mistake and maybe a fatal flaw in the entire system ..........

So I got it back and put in on the trailer. Tomorrow I will swap the lines around and change plugs and hose run to see if that helps. If not then I am sending it out to have it fixed as I am so tired of working on this thing I wana scream:irked:. I know there is gremlins with all jobs but damn! Time for some serious beer:cheers:
