2001 Convincor 24 with 350 mag mpi

lol Yes Demag. Remember he went on boating and didn't worry to much with the chop.
I'm just saying it sucks when you are limited so much by water conditions. So go as big as you can.:surf:

That should seal the deal for Sim. If it wasn't for that one video of him ripping around Greenwood Lake as proof I would swear he never sits down in his boat.

John

I believe that comes from the old saying of "Having ants in his pants"

That comes from sitting all dam day. When he came to my shop to help with his Liner I was getting tired just watching him zip back and forth until
I gave him something to do. :poke:

I aged 10 years when he was around.  :rof:

Great story Jim but it doesn't really answer the question.

Probably close. They are about the same length and both have a 24deg bottom.
Thank You! That's an answer. ("I aged 10 years when he was around, ants in his pants" SHEEESH!)

From what I have found, the Convincor is 600+/- lbs heavier. Combine that and stand up bolsters I will again say the Convincor will make for a better ride if all other things are equal (24* deadrise, no pads, etc).

That leads me to another question... Does the Enforcer have a pad?

HD

I have a better question or two ;):

  • How many hours on each boat?
  • What out-drive does each boat have (ie: bravo, alpha, etc.)
  • Which interior is cleaner?
  • Which is likely to be easier to sell?
  • Are the trailers in good condition?
IMO, those should be the concerns driving your decision as much as a marginally better ride based on the opinion of a bunch of guys that have never owned both models.

I can only speak for my Enforcer. Less than 250hrs, bravo outdrive, no pad, interior is nice but not new, and the trailer is in good condition. And, it is cheap!:bigthumb:

Hey Sim,
What are the water conditions you boat in most? How important is the cabin to you as far as room?

I agree with Keith on what type of water do you boat on rivers, lakes and how deep? Because all I know is we drive 80 miles one way to use are boat because our rivers here is shallow most of the time and it's pretty narrow. Plus our river is nasty, it stains the bottom of the boats really bad if you dont clean it right away. So if you going big make sure you don't have to drive a long way to use it.

Sim's pretty fortunate as far as choices from his location. I would say within 30 minutes he could be on several spots in the Delaware (plenty deep). Within an hour he could be in the bays or ocean. In under 2 hours he could be on the Hudson (bigger and deeper than the Delaware), Greenwood Lake (again, not very big but plenty deep), Wallenpaupack (a little bigger than Greenwood but still plenty deep), or Hopatcong (not as deep as the other lakes from what I gather). Lots of options but from what I gather he spends a lot of time on the Delaware and on the southern end of the Hudson/NY Harbor. I think both boats have their pluses and minuses. One is newer and has an EFI engine, but costs a lot more and looks to have an Alpha drive. The other is less money, has a stronger drive, and more potential if he decides to mod it but is older and has a color combo that will make it harder to sell when the time comes. As far as the weight/ride, perhaps one of the guys here with a connection at the factory can make a phone call and get hull specs and an approximate weight for the two boats?

Found this on NADA:

ENFORCER 230 23' 3300lbs 7'8" beam 300hp

CONVINCOR 240 23' 3300lbs 7'11" beam 310hp

I still think the Enforcer with the weight of a big block in the back is going to take the rough stuff better unless the hulls have a much different the deadrise.

Right on the money on all counts.John knows me well. Except,it actually takes less time for me to get to all those places. As far as cabin goes I really will only sleep in it on rare occasions and hopefully a long trip I want to take. Other than that will just be hopping in for brief periods of time which have proven to be quite the challenge in the Liner.
The question is- Am I confident enough to roll in a pink boat?

Confident enough, probably so. With the price difference you have more than enough room to repaint the boat to your liking, replace the interior to match the new paint and put fuel in the tank. But it would be hard to see a return on investment if you would be selling in the near future.

All I know is I kind of like the cuddy on our boat I wasnt sure if i was going to like the closed bow but I do now it has a little toilet if you ever needed to us it. We went down to Lake Cumberland and left at night and got there about 8:00 in the morning and our room wasnt ready so we just put the boat in and got our slip and took a nap in the cuddy.

Toilet? Nap? Not what I had in mind but I guess that's an option too.
In terms of resale- I'm thinkin' if i've got something that can handle the occasional 3 footers why would I want to resale?
The other thing I like about the closed bow is on the East River in the rapids of Hellgate (see wikipedia) it keeps the rollers from swamping through your bow.

That Enforcer is with a stock 7.4, mine is the 454mag at either 350 or 365hp. Can't remember which? Heck, I can't remember what I had for lunch today!
And they both have a 24deg dead rise, or at least I know mine does. I have never seen the 22 Convincor hull up close.
