Put the second coat of epoxy in the front seat boxes and back seat bace.

I thought a long time on what I should do to get the water on the floor to the drain or pump in the back. This is what I came up with and thought I could put a light in here to light up the floor nicely.

I also thought this was a cool idea for the front seat boxes. Nice little storage cubby for keys, wallet, cellphone if it stays dry.

Also a good way to get air in to dry these spots out

Found a little trick with the cabosil tonight when trying to use up the leftover epoxy in the pot. I glued in these blocks and I try to get the cabosil neat so I don't have to sand so much. So I thought I would use the extra epoxy on the blocks they had 2 cotes befor getting glued in. But any how the cabosil was chewing gum like tacky but still not set up so I brushed it on and was able to smooth out all the lumps and ruff edges that I would of had to sand out. Kinda like a wet sponge on clay. Don't know if any one knows this but thought this was kinda neat trick. I will have to see how it drys out.

First class job. Are you gonna loose the windshield or keep it as is.

.

Thanks 😬 I plan on keeping it. I like the way it looks. There is a bar on the lake I go on so I plan on taking the boat there a lot:cheers: and gets chilly at night on the way home so ill be able to get out of the wind.

I had chose to leave my windshield off . I liked the way the boat looked with it But It sat so long with out it that the more I looked at it the more I liked it with out it so I filled in all the holes before it was painted so I wouldnt put it back on . I like seeing how every one that does these boats (vmate and the MX-15) adds there own little touches to them and makes them unique ....

I agree it's like a blank slate you can let your imagination run wiled really. I hope I just haven't added to much lbs to it. When I had it running on the lake for the one summer 2 of my not so small friends thought it would be funny to try to sink it. They stud on the back and all most got the transom all the way under water I was not happy. They will not be doing this after I'm done or someone will get hit. 😁

I worked on the bulk head tonight. What a pain in the butt to get it to fit right. Two templets later one out of cardboard to rough it out. And one out of thin plywood to fine tune it. Here's what I got first layer of fiberglass on. It goes from the floor up the to the deck lid to stiffen it up. Starting to become a pain jumping in and out of the boat. 25-820DB62FE859-41642-00002E81D5318E65_zpsd3989d5c.jpg

Nice job, keep up the great progress..

Got the bulk head in tonight with cabosil. Also got the wood floor glued in with cabosil and filed in the v groves in between the boards as well. Also the first cote of epoxy on the boards and the 3 coat on the hull. If I say so it look really sweet real classic like 😃

Center floor look great, now you have to keep it that way.
Especially while doing all your other work around it.

Thanks ya I know I'm thinking of holding off on the varnish till all the work is done. That way I can sand and fix any boo boos. I'm probably going to put down cardboard also.

Cardboard over rosin paper works very well.

I don't know how I haven't seen this thread until now! Great job, it is really coming together. Makes me want to buy a project boat to rebuild, but still have my current boat so I can take my time. HMMMM

Sounds like a good idea to this guy. I'm having a lot of fun. I'm starting to think I'm going to be board when I'm done with it. Or just use that time to go boating. :)
