Building twin outboards for my Convincor

I've heard too many horror stories about it and too many people saying "this brand/type of grey hose is good but that one isn't" so I won't gamble on it. I have some in my boat right now but I am replacing it with the good stuff before I start it this season.

Fuel question

I'm getting a little out of my knowledge zone here.

My boat was wired with electric fuel pumps with switches on the dash. Can someone point me to fuel pumps that I can install? If I'm understanding this right and I think I remember reading Instigator's build thread on his Sonic; I can install a simple thru flow fuel pump to take the place of the primer bulbs. It seams like I could buy a low pressure fuel pump turn it on for a few moments and then start the motors. Am I missing something?

If the stock pumps are still present and functioning you can use electric pumps in place of proper bulbs. If the stock ones are bypassed you'll be able to do the same but I'd be more inclined to make sure they'll flow the GPH needed. Either way you don't want too much pressure.

Go with the bulbs and a pair of these.....his n' hers! :D

I run the holley red marine pumps on my boat. You need two pumps and make sure you use 2 relays. 1 per pump. You will not be able to shut them off when running.

Don't buy that stuff. Get OEM bulbs. Doesn't matter which ones, Merc, Rude, or Yamaha. If you ask Randy he'll tell you which pumps he uses. They're Purolator and probably not much more money than OEM bulbs. I asked him a while back but can't find the thread.
