CHECKMATE OWNERS RALLY 2014

I haven't been on for awhile, had to have emergency eye surgery last week and still can't really see but I thought I needed to pass this little bit of info along. Looks like the lake level will be coming back up to normal this year a lot sooner than I thought it would!! Great news for the lake!!!

Thanks for the update on this Corey. The Mgr of grider hill told me this past weekend there would be an announcement like this by April 1st. Glad to hear the good news for the area !!!

Whats the count on boats we need to make this bigger than last year. The more that come the more that say it was worth the trip and say they will be back again! Don't miss this rally better to be in the pics than lookin at them on the forum!

Oh man I love that place. Only 100 days before I head that way and it cant get here soon enough. I do need a to get me a nice sunshade before this trip and a bigger cooler. Hoping to see Sammie and many others at this years Rally. :thumb:

Still jealours of that big airco!! Lol

Being a small boat guy wanting a big boat, the fuel costs are scaring me. I've run 2/3 of Cumberland in my crazy inefficient 2.5L EFI at about 40 - 50 mph and don't think twice. I put the hammer down and don't think about the costs but if I was getting 1 mpg @ $5.00/gallon my slow math is telling me a 100 mile trip is $500. Someone double check my math.

Do I need a big boat with a couple of OPTIS? Doesn't Wildman have one for sale?
Running twin 454's, I get 2mpg running hard during the thunder run. She sips gas when I am just cruising along. However, it's not a 1100# hull so it does take more to push than our small boats. The more power, the bigger the prop, the lower the RPM, the less fuel consumption:bigthumb:

I'm there! I'll be there somehow so I can be in the XXX movie.
I heard there looking for a fluffer for some free range goats..... :eyecrazy:

Chris, that 2800OBX Wildman has for sale has your name written all over it !!!! :bigthumb: It even looks like a turn key project !!!

I need some CA real estate to pick up first. I think I'm still a couple years out.:pissed: But I'm a very lucky guy and can't complain.

Chris the words boating and cheap aren't in the same category. Especially if your talking a big boat. Just find the closest blood bank and start selling off some organs and you will have lots of fun on a big boat. Although Randy's boat would be a lot cheaper with maintenance costs.

I love checkmates and always will, still got 2. But with my recent back problems I can't finished what I started which sucks. But I can always admire your guys boats, saw max's (2tonchevy) 2800 a couple weekends ago and it's nice! He just finished the cockpit and got new interior, then I gave him my cuddy cushions out of my enforcer so he can finish that.

Hopefully the lake is cleared up by then, we took the sonic out and got one limb stuck in the gil brackets, smacked a low floater that we thought destroyed my lowers then another close call after that. So we just stopped and had some cold ones and enjoyed the nice weather lol! Actually hung out with some guys in a convincer.

What part of the lake and what color was the Convincor?

I saw online the other day where a couple guys on the lake hit a low floating log. They ripped the engine off the back, it swung into the boat and they were both cut by the prop along with some other injuries. they will be fine but the picture of his leg was pretty nasty.

It was right outside of Conley bottom and it was a 25' white with red and another color. Hadn't really seen that scheme before? There were 2 guys and 2 girls in the boat, younger maybe mid 20's.
