Delaware River 9/22

if you are going to drive to Curtins, you could go another 8 miles/15mins down the road and launch at the same place I do. Just thought I would throw it out that it is that close if you are interested.

I'll leave it to Sim to make the decision even though his decision making skills are questionable at best having purchased a blue and purple kayak.

Quick river report:

work took me to Riverton, which is right along the river, so I took a good look and drive along the bank. It was an outgoing tide and the wind was blowing across the river (towards the side I was on) and I saw nearly no debris. Typically, if there is debris, this scenerio will put it all along the NJ side of the river. Seeing no debris is good news, unless it is still working its way out, but I doubt there will be much, if any.

Hotel rooms are booked. I replaced some heavily worn tires and greased the bearings on the loaner trailer. Now all I need to do is pick up some of Cincinnati's finest brew for John and I'm ready to go.:bounce:

There's gonna be some big dogs there? I don't stand a chance. Hopefully the Trophy I picked up works OK without the blowout ring. Might find out tonight.

I saw that boat you got. 1 goatpower has got to move that inflatable along pretty nicely. Plus you got 4 cupholders so you'll never notice if your not even moving.

What is this 26 year old engine? We can have a battle of the 86' engines since that is the same year power plant on my boat:devil:

I bought an 1986 115 hp inline six that came off a Bass Boat for $750. I had a 1981 115 hp inline six. The old one is crank hp and the new one is prop hp so I was hoping to pick up a couple mph from a simple change. But simple change it turned out not to be. The new motor has the trim pump integrated to the motor where the old had the trim pump inside the boat. No problem there except the bolt pattern of the new is different and it didn't align to my jack plate. :(

So they were able to flip the plate upside down and drill a couple new holes or something like that and make it work but now the motor is sitting 2 inches lower than it was. So we'll see how it all works out on Saturday.

No plan really. I thought I was doing pretty well with the old set up, I was running 58 or so fully loaded in perfect water but I just wanted too see if I could get more. Running 60 with an inline is pretty darn cool. Or rather running 60 with 115hp is awesome and it sips fuel compared to the big boats. So I was just trying a new setup. If I like the new motor better I'll sell the old one, and if I like the old one I'll put it back on. Or maybe I'll spend stupid money on a new efi motor cause I love my old boat but want the new fancy reliability of a new engine. What to do, what to do...
