Delaware River 9/22

I find Delaware debris to be a lot more manageable than Hudson.
Burlington island at 10:30 sounds real do-able. A friend of mine and his dad are going to be joining us in their jetboat. Their is a good chance if it's ok with atc and knarloid that we'll launch in Burlington instead of Trenton to cut 15 miles off the front and back end of the trip.
My friend has never been on the delaware around philly and he's psyched. I don't think atc has either.

Sounds great sim. 30 miles at 2 miles per gallon is a lot. :)

Knarloid - is your old boat going to make it this time?

I don't think so - he hasn't had it out since mid July (due to other commitments and illness), and is now busy coaching our rugby team this season with a big game on Saturday.

I should be there - but haven't worked out how many are with me yet. I'd be looking to launch at Burlington with the other Liners.
I'm trying to wait for a suitable moment to broach the topic at the house.....I've been enjoying too many weekend days on my own recently in the boat or on the rugby pitch when I should have been a good supportive parent.

I was out yesterday for a 76 mile trip up the Hudson and around Manhattan with some visiting boaters from Ireland. Weather was perfect and we enjoyed a nice lunch at the Boathouse in Ossining. The family didn't come out for that either. :sssh:

And my 4blade ally 21" prop is still unmarked after several trips out this last few months...and I now always carry a spare hubkit and prop Just-in Casey!

Thats an awesome website. Gives me an idea of how many miles and gas i'm gonna burn doing it. Looks like i'm getting about 3 miles per gal.

That is very cool! Is it just an app. for the phone?

No - it's linked to Google. I can't work it on the iphone or ipad, only from a PC as you have to double click each point on the route. If you double click on the iphone/ipad, it only zooms in on screen.

Ram, if you can, give me a call tomorrow morning if you get a chance. I want to see exactly what you have in mind for Saturday, I am trying to figure out what ramp to tell Keith and jetmate to use. If we are going to start out at Burlington and end up at dredge or tullytown or maybe bordentown then neshaminy would be the best for them I think or tacony if we are going to stay farther south.

Drove over the bridge in trenton. No debris up there in the water as far as I could see so hopefully whatever is in there should be clear by Saturday

Sim,

Do we need to buy a permit for that ramp? According to the site the cops will ticket people who don't have one.

Been there many times but never launched from there. I saw the same thing as you did on their web site that its $15 to launch. That's not the bad part. You can't buy a day pass at the ramp as they no longer have attendants (and they say the cops WILL ticket). You have to go to the town center on Wood street (about 6 blocks away) to purchase. And that's not the bad part.
The bad part is THEY ARE CLOSED ON WEEKENDS!
The good news is that Curtins Marina is right next door and they are open for launching.
The bad news is- They're 15 bucks too.
But think of all the money you'll be saving on gas. Even if you'd launched in Trenton it would've cost 10-15 bucks-although knarloid parked there a few weeks ago and couldn't buy a ticket from the non-existent attendant, left an explanation note on his windshield and came back to no ticket.
I'll do a little more research and confirm with Curtins that they are a viable fall-back scenario.

I don't think either of them charge for inflatable kayaks. I'm just sayin.......

You get off easy at $15. I'm from out of state so I get jacked up to the tune of $25 just to use the ramp. Trenton is sounding better and better to me.

Just checked with Curtins. $15 . Doesn't matter what planet you're from. They'll take your money.
If you wanted to borrow an extremely stylish and masculine myyak you could save a fortune on gas and launching. Just sayin.......
Come to think of it you also wouldn't have to worry about any of those nasty, disappearing bilge plugs.
You know John, that manyak could solve a multitude of problems for you, existent and otherwise.
And it's soooooooo pretty too.

if you are going to drive to Curtins, you could go another 8 miles/15mins down the road and launch at the same place I do. Just thought I would throw it out that it is that close if you are interested.

Looking forward to a great day on the water:thumb:

Weather - L 61/H 82 Sunny 0% chance of rain and winds S @ 8 mph... PERFECT!

How many $$$$$?, I'd probably be in for a xl.

Free... I know that is right up your alley, Eh?

Not sure what sizes/colors are left, but anyone can have their pick. I paid for them a long time ago and would rather have someone actually wear them rather than sit in a bag in my closet.
