What thickness are you going with your knees? My guess is you're going to go with 1.5".

At least 1.5", I'm leaning toward 2" since I took the splaswell out. I'll take a picture of the mock up one I cut out. My plan is once the transom is installed I'll glass the knees from the transom back to the stringers as one piece instead of two like before. That was one reason why I cut the stringers so far back. I'll add a horizontal brace as well. Hope that makes sense.
 
This afternoon I got the transom glassed and filled some holes with hull and deck putty on the inner skin. Tomorrow I'll add glass to the inner skin and around the edge of transom. This is a slow process when encapsulating the transom or any other part of the floor. Here's a couple of pictures:

Today I added a layer of mat on the inner skin to give some added strength as well as fill the sand marks,gouges and holes. I also added a coat of resin on the bulkheads. I'm kicking around some ideas on the transom knee braces, I took a picture of the mock up version. The knee brace will go from the top of the transom down to the hull and tie into the stringers. The shorter piece stops at the bulkhead which will be tied back to the stringers.

Today I made some progress and got the transom glued and clamped in place. I'm not sure why the camera is showing a big gap (second picture)at the bottom of the transom it's only about a 1/2" in person. The reason for the gap was I didn't take into account the lean/ angle of the transom. I'll add hull and deck putty to that before glassing the transom in. I think the mate will break in half before the transom gives way, that bad boy is heavy and stout. I also glued and screwed two 3/4" pieces together and cut the angle for the top of the transom. I'll add resin to that piece tomorrow. I also added drain holes in the stringers where the gas tank sits, just need to seal those with some resin.

Once the transom and braces are glassed in the floor will be next. One item I've got to figure out is matching the paint on the transom. I'm filling holes that will not be needed and stress cracks on transom. Here's a few pictures from today:

Looking really good!!! You do a nice glassing job.

Those big clamps are SO useful! I can't thank Old Hickory enough for that one.
 
Today I got the top piece glass on both sides, tomorrow I'll glue the top in place. Also got the knee braces cut/fitted, glued and screwed together, I'll glass both sides tomorrow as well. Here's some pictures from today:

Now that I see what you are doing it makes sense. I had a brain fart and didn't realize that you didn't remove the stringers.

I'm going to construct something similiar only it won't really be for knee bracing for the transom as it will be the leg support for a bench seat that I want to construct plus hold an 18 gal. gas tank in place. It will not tie into the stringer directly like yours as I only have one that runs down the middle unless I run a cross member/bulkhead to tie all the pieces together, which probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

My stringers were ok, I drilled some holes in different places to check them. I forgot to mention the stringers was still in when explaining tying the knee braces/stringers/transom all together. Notice how close my gas tank sits to the back, it's just in front of the bulkhead. What you're going to do wouldn't be a bad idea, gives you more support and some added strength by adding the bulkhead to tie all the pieces together.
 
I forget to mention that I'm on my second case of PL Premuim construction Adhesive. The bigger the boat the more you gotta buy.:D

I am interested to see how you "tie" the new partial stringer/knee to the existing stringer. :popcorn:

Once the knee/stringer is embedded in place I'll wrap 1708 from one side to the other at the joint. Then I'll add extra 1708 on both sides 6" past the joint back to the transom.
 
Today I got the top piece glued in place, the knees and the first of three bulkheads glassed on both sides and used some hull and deck putty to fill the gap between the top and bottom pieces. Hopefully sometime this week I'll add three layers of 1708 to the transom and hull. First I'll need to lightly sand the hull and inside the transom. Here's some pictures:

Today I got the first of three layers of 1708 mat on the transom. I'm hoping to have all three glassed in by Thurday. First I added some 1708 mat around the perimeter prior to the first full lay up. That first lay up took 3/4 Gal of resin, that 1708 soaks it up. Here's a few pictures:
