Slow and steady! I am getting parts lined up for the stroker motor that will go in over the winter. A stock junkyard motor just dont cut it!. Other than that, I am pretty tied up with other things around the house and just enjoying a boat that is together for the first time in 6 years!!:D

Can't argue with relaxing. It seems now that I have time to relax the summer is gone. Will follow that stroker build! :)

Forgot all about posting pics of it done:brickwall:! I have posted a few already but will post them all here in one spot:bigthumb:

I read this entire thread..twice:thumb:

Just an awesome job. I would be very proud to own a boat like that!

Great choices in color and style, you have a good eye for design.

where did you get your steering wheel adapter?
I made it from the original wheel kit. I drilled it with a hole saw and kept the original center, then used the grant adapter and drilled and taped holes into the original center to join them together. Other than drilling the original hub that took about 30 minutes, it was real easy and quick:)

Finishing a couple little details and will be updating with the new motor soon.

I refinished the cup holders.

I used a grinder to get the old material off. Sanded and re oiled the teak. Then wrapped the new green vinyl with the help of stainless staples. Used new stainless screws to remount the teak back on. I wish I had pics of the teak before the oil, night and day difference:). This project has only taken me a year to complete, LOL. Should look good and add some color down by the floor.

BTW, If anyone has one more of these laying around, I need it bad!!

Next on the list is the ski locker teak:bigthumb:

Well good weather and got help lined up to pull the motor tomorrow afternoon. I got to get the old one pulled so I can swap parts over to the stroker. I still plan on having it back in and ready to run by 5/1! I still have not made a decission on the exhaust so I will be waiting on that to run it. I might just use the GLM's so I can get it broke in. Then swap it over and start the motor/ stern jack/ and nose cone testing.

Sounds like you will be testing on the water soon! Keep us updated!

What heads/internals/intake are you using on this stroker?

What heads/internals/intake are you using on this stroker?
2.02", 200cc runners, 64cc chamber aluminum
1.6 full roller rockers
Custom 1 off cam grind for this motor
4340 I-beam rods
forged pistons 10.75-1cr (yea I know its high, race gas is at the end of the street)
Aluminum intake
750cfm edelbrock

Evan, Mark, and Tony all came over tonight to help out on the motor removal. I am having problems out of the back again so I am not doing anything where I over work it. I called it payment for boat rides this summer and they agreed:surf:. Less than 1 hour after starting, the motor was out and sitting in the back of the truck. I got some real cleaning to do on the engine bay. I had a small oil leak on the valve covers so there is oil everywhere. I will get it cleaned up over the next day or two and tear down the old engine so I can get all the old parts cleaned and polished back up. I was hoping to get the motor back in by friday but I am going to make sure the boat is spotless clean first. If its back in friday then good, if not, oh well! No need to rush anything and end up overlooking something.

One thing I did find was the exhaust manifold bolts were all bent. A very slight amount but still bent. I am running 3/4" spacers so that I can run the tall valve covers. I used grade 8 bolts but them manifolds and risers are very heavy. I should not have a problem with the new light weight headers but I still have not bought them. I planed on breaking the new motor in on the old GLM's but after seeing the bolts, I ain't going to try it especially going into aluminum heads

Got the engine compartment cleaned today on de-oiled the motor. I will tear the old parts off and get them polished back up tomorrow. Some of the truck bed lining I painted in the engine bay is pealing off so I guess I will sand it down real good and recoat it.

Damn rain:irked:

I sold the GLM manifolds, the old comp "extreme" cam, and ported heads on friday. The guy was so happy with the condition of the parts, he cam back saturday and bought the long block junkyard dog motor. Its going into a baja but I pre warned him it still won't be as fast as a mate;)!

Still have not done much to the stroker motor. I might get a little motivated to go get head bolts and the new oil pump today.

Got a little motivated today. Got some new parts for this one as well. One problem was the lower bracket for the alt kept on bending and the belt would loosen. I solved this with new brackets! Also the old pulleys were crap looking so its got new pulleys as well!! Also got a new chrome P/S pump since the old one was rusty and all dented up.

As for the motor, cam, windage tray, oil pump, remote oil filters and heads are on. Got some cleaning to do on the polished aluminum parts so they can go back on. Another couple hours and it should be together and ready to drop in!

We may want to get a running bet who will be done first. looks like we are even about now.

It may give us more motivation to get done sooner.

I'll post some picks where I'm at by Friday.

what I have left.

Gel transom ( next week)
install Imco extension box w/Imco inner transom plate ( don't have it yet)
install Imco ITS transom assembly (bought already the most expensive part)
Install engine and all internal rigging ( have it all)
Get XR upper back from Max machine works, 1300 HP rating. dropping off this sat)
Install new 30" Dana 1100 swept tip trim tabs. (Bought)
Install new 1.34 ratio Imco 2" lower SC drive. (Just have to pick it up from Imco one is ready for me)

Then prop testing and some seat time

So how much you want to put up? Brian

Don't slap that new engine together now.
