"TOP SECRET CHECKMATE" PIC'S

Well,

I personally will not be checkin' out if this new/old boat attracts some baja boaters....... Just look at it as an opportunity for them to be educated on what we appreciate about the Checkmate style. I honestly can't see how this is going to hurt Checkmate at all. From what I see; it dosen't appear that Checkmate is going to drop every boat in the line up and replace them all with "football" shaped bobbers as some have called them. It appears they are trying to capitalize on an opportunity to sell more boats and hopefully bring more boaters into the Checkmate family. I'm all for it.

Molds

Guess nobody on this board is old enough to know that CheckMate and Baja have been swapping boat molds since day one. Nothing new at all.
The difference is, Mr Combs would sell the old hull mold, but would not ever sell the deck molds. and the hull layout formula stayed at c-mate.
Baja is not the only ones to buy old 'mate molds.

BR-among other things, the thread is about how poorly made, poorly engineered, and slow the H2x was. Hence, how bad an idea it is for c-mate to copy/continue. As you may know, I respond to doubters. Cure: Don't doubt me.

Hickory-- the ad opt box lists; misc opt, thread subsrip, and rate thread (no attach).

That sounds more like the story I have heard.....and then there is even more.....:poke:

Okay Big Red; I'll get it back on topic. I read thru some other threads on this very topic(none of which I had read; or had any interest until now) and found a quote from BAJADOUG I'm sure he regrets right now. This just tells you how things and minds change, even over a short period of time. EDIT: quote dated; 06-25-2008, 09:03 AM; from Checkmate clones and splashes: "Does a BAJA mould make a good Checkmate"

OK GUYS THE BAJADOUG NAME HAS BEEN WITH ME FOREVER, SO COME UP WITH A NEW HANDLE AND I'LL MAKE THE CHANGE.
THERE IS NO TRUTH ABOUT BAJA MOLDS, WE HAVE NONE OF THE MOLDS AND FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THEY HAVE BEEN SENT TO THE LAND FILL.
I HAVE SPOKE WITH REGGIE ABOUT BUILDING SOME OF THE SMALLER BOATS FOR HIM AND THEY WOULD BE THEIR BOATS.

SO THERE IT IS FROM THE HORSES MOUTH.

THE PLANT WILL BE HAVING AN OPEN HOUSE AUG. 1ST ANF ALL ARE INVITED, FOLLOWED BY A POKER RUN ON SAT.

I can understand why many of you feel the way you do; but in the end I don't believe he owes any of us an explanation. It would probably be nice if he did come on the forum and let us know why the change of heart; but in the end I wouldn't hold my breath. It is after all his company, and if he wants to build an Islander(now SFX 250) and a H2x(now 244ZT), under the Checkmate logo, it's entirely his right to do so. Only time will tell if this was a good decision; I'm hopeful; for everyones sake.

Just wanted to reply about the tuff guy talk......some of the stuff in my posts there had input from several other people here trying to ruffle feathers. Alot of the ones I have posted are that way (multiple people adding) since the 7-8 years I've been comming to this site. I only get on this forum at work, and even then not real often…we were bored and grouped up at my computer. Sometimes at lunch-time I get on here and see if I can help someone with questions......FYI: I PM’d boatman and told him no harm intended.....I am never a mean s.o.b. only like to hang out with good/fun people....I don't even have time to read thru this whole bajamate thread. And there is no way I'm going to get on the internet at home during my own time....and not get paid for it.

Later,
Craig

I have said this before and I will say it again right here. None of you will ever take the first step in my shoes being responsible for the things I do or say, or the decisions I make. Like wise, I will never walk in your shoes. This is why I don't let other people "tell" me what to do or say. I welcome all advise and suggestions. But the final decision is mine. I found out 3 years ago what happens when you do what someone else wants you to do. The person who wanted you to do it is happy and you are not. But do they care? NO. I guess this is kinda like saying I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get so bent. It's just that the thread got away from Baja vs C-mate and became a personal battle. Should have never happened! By the way, my drive way is still muddy! boatman:cheers:

Big and Dog, Hey, thats kinda catchy! BigDog. Anyway, you 2 have way too much time on your hands. You both need a hobby until winter is over. Oh, I forgot, you have 1! I just wish I could find a smilie to symbolize that hobbie. Has something to do with intellegence and a certain farm animal?:rof::cheers::rof::cheers::rof:boatman:lol:
