"TOP SECRET CHECKMATE" PIC'S

Big and Dog, Hey, thats kinda catchy! BigDog. Anyway, you 2 have way too much time on your hands. You both need a hobby until winter is over. Oh, I forgot, you have 1! I just wish I could find a smilie to symbolize that hobbie. Has something to do with intellegence and a certain farm animal?:rof::cheers::rof::cheers::rof:boatman:lol:

come on boatman, you must admit that was funny!! now I see why
craig called you names..lol.."boatwoman" I think it was..:sssh::poke:
 Hey Red, it obviously hit the nerve you were aiming for, Good shot!

I just got home last night from 5 days at the Miami boatshow. All I can say, is that the 244zt was by far the most looked at Checkmate in the booth! The colors certainly had something to do with it. I even gotta say that I came away liking the boat and would order one if I could sell a few of the seven I have in stock. The boat is built exactly like all the oher Checkmates, so I don't think quality will be a problem.
Also, anyone looking to by a new Checkmate, or Liberator tunnel, PLEASE call me for a quote before you buy. I'll put more custom stuff in it and can most likely price it for less. PLEASE, buy a boat from me. My cat is hungry!

Come on Wildman that 244 does not hold a candle to a Convincor on looks. A 25 foot boat that big that does not even have drop out bolsters is a joke.

Its not a bad looking boat but it does not look half as good as a Convincor or 2400.

They stuck 2 Baja's and wake board boat their. The pickings are slim to look at.

They should of had that killer looking closed bow 2400 you have and a 300 Convincor their also.

Yeah, I'd have loved to have a closed deck there, but it's not my decision or dollar. I will always love the Checkmate's long nose, but ya gotta sell what people will buy and that's the boat everyone was looking at. Some people asked if it could be bought with an outboard. That's when I show them the Pulsares.
If guys on here would but some boats, we could keep the Checkmates coming!

I can understand how some people don't like the new/old hull design, but to say I wont buy another Checkmate because of this is kinda silly.
It's like going to a car dealership.Do you like every model on the lot?Probably not,but somebody is gonna buy that car that you thought was butt ugly. The same could be said for boats.
I would love to be in one of these boats and have someone tell me it's a Baja.I would quickly correct them and say NO SIR IT'S A CHECKMATE.Wanna compare build quality.
In this day and age I think it's smart business to appeal to a larger market.
Just my opinion don't bash me for it.:D

Wow. I always thought that Checkmate was built on it's experiance derived from performance and racing. Using some elses mold takes away from that. There is no data or testing to prove it's performance and whether it is worthy of the Checkmate Logo. Or is there? Granted it is still hand laid glass in Checkmates factory but it is not a true breed.

At a time economic down turn is it wise to produce a product which goes against the companies belief. This reminds me of when Dodge would slap Dodge name plates on Mitsubishi produced cars and tell you to buy American, it wasn't a Dodge nor did it help the company in the long run. For that matter it's not a Checkmate or Baja it's a Brunswick, over comercialized built for the masses product with minimal testing but loads of marketing.

I thought of selling my Enchanter this summer, after seeing this I'm going to restore it, that way I can at least say I own a true Checkmate.

True but a real Mopar lover still bought Dodge products.Just not the Mitsudodge.I'm sure Checkmate still makes all the models that made you love them. And there still built in America.:thumb:

Very well said Tony.

Yeah! I'm not gonna buy a new corvette cuz Chevy makes a minivan!
Losers like those who say they would'nt buy a Checkmate again because they now have a Baja mold are those who could never, or would never buy a new boat anyway. They need to get their heads out of their a$$es!

this is all good....... but-i am a true moprar guy and this makes no sense to me...... if i am looking for.........lets say a 2009 dodge,5.7 hemi cuad cab ect.-and i found out that it was made from a toyota mold and had a toyota motor that was.....lets say a 4.3(like the chevy vortec) would i still buy that truck? F*CK no! it is not was i was in the market for. i would buy a ford or gm or something with the same power and capabilities.... that said- if i was looking for a 25foot c-mate and could not find a true c-mate w/ the same capabilities i would have to go to a different manufacturer! i will not say the names of those brands as of right now.............. have been thinking about buying a new or newer boat lately:sssh:

You just don't get it do ya?CHECKMATE STILL BUILDS ALL THERE OTHER MODELS.You guys act like this is the only mold they have.Maybe if you bashers would actually buy a boat instead of talking about it they would'nt have taken this route.

Check16,
What alot of us are saying is IF they stop making what we like and change over to this H2baja style completely, THEN we buy something else.....Not becuase they are making just one....So now we're back to calling peple losers and " get your head out of your A$$" comments, and the rest of us can't. I agree with Ross 100%, if it gets to the point that this H2X becomes the checkmate standard, you have no choice but to go elsewhere if you don't like it. That's it, it's just talkin'.

I could not agree more.If this is to become the new Checkmate then .The key word is IF.Nowhere have I seen any proof that Checkmate will discontinue the Pulsares,Convincers, ect, ect.Lets try to stick to the facts not WHAT IF'S.
The comments you refer to above did'nt come from me.
I just think it's hilarious how some guys are saying that they were gonna buy a new boat this year, but because of this there not.BULL,and if there so worried about the REAL Checkmates going away they better rush out and buy one.I'm sure the Checkmate folks would'nt mind.
I just wonder how we'll treat the first person that joins our community with one of these.:shakehead:

I agree.

I am personally disgusted with the new H model or whatever it is called. I actually liked BAJA as a kid until they went to the "space-age" look. My friend still has an older Baja that I enjoy going out in big water with. BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A FOOTBALL. To me a big part of Checkmate is its originality, that boat is not original.

I like the fishing boat, but mostly because I have not seen any other Checkmate CC's in my 29 years of being a Checkmate "fan" (just because I have not seen one doesn't mean they never existed, so don't start preaching to me with all the knowledge that you "elders" have). I think that the CC was a smart business decision.

WITH ALL THAT BEING SAID.... Talking about not buying a Checkmate now because of these 2 "new" models is ridiculous. Maybe not buying one in 5 years is a possibility, depending on how the company proceeds with its line-up, but not buying one now, WHY?????? They still build every model now that they did when Big Boy (DS) bought the company (actually more). If you were seriously going to buy a new Checkmate in the next month or two, this would not change your decision, because you will still get the same boat.

MAYBE our IF's will help keep old Mr. Smith in line and NOT change any more of the styling! If we did not care, we would not say anything! We like C-mates for a reasons, MUCH of it styling!! Tell me this, the first time you saw a Checkmate, did you go "wow, look at that, it must be well built"? NO, I am sure you said, "WOw, look at that, pretty f-ing cool looking boat"! Then you find out what it is made of. Same thing here...I go, WOW, that looks NOTHING like a Checkmate, it is a Baja...NEXT!!!

I used to sell and work on C-maes. When I sold them, the dealership I worked for was very much into learning every aspect of the boats we sold and our competitors. EVERY ASPECT!! So, we were to pic apart everything that made C-mate better and Baja was out biggest competitor. So for me, this may be built by C-mate, but it is in Sheeps (BAJA) clothing.... It was my job to pic that boat apart and tell/show customers why EVERY aspect of a Cmate was better. So, seeing a Beckmate kills me...

Well then... I have bought 3 new boats in the past 5 years and 5 boats total in the past 6 years. And I am one who said I will be done with Cmate IF, IF, IF, IF, they turn into a Baja...So yes, I can and will continue to buy new boats, but one I just crossed off my list for the near future was one you have in your inventory... Thanks for saving me some money!!!!:shakehead:
