Well, the boat is off the trailer and resting on its glossy side.
Used 5 really great guys to give me a hand getting it off the trailer. We then rolled it on its side and over. Not as bad as I thought it would have been.
Now its pad time.

The bottom over all is in great shape. Only one scatch to take care of.
Thats dirt up front by the tow eye.

I will do that. Its going to take a day to get it all worked out. I have been collecting data on this pad thing for a while. But even then unless someone has done it to your hull its going to be a SWAG (Scientific wild ass guess)

Rolling it back over when it's all finished might be more of a challenge though!

When you say you are going to make a pad on the bottom, that means you are going to make part of it flat?Isn't that a little scary or is it reversable(go back to the V hull)if it doesn't turn out as expected. You won't know how it handles until you put it in the water, right?Hope this doesn't sound like a real dumb question.

Looking into the unknow Mr Wick. I have been in boats that have a pad. So the I have an idea of how it will handle. But as far as I know no one has ever put a pad on a tri-mate. It should be interesting. The pad will be bonded on to the hull. So I guess I could reverse it and make it a V again if all doesent work out. I am looking for about 5MPH just from the pad.

I have a little more work for you Gus. You have 3 lifting strakes on the bottom each side, only one set making it all the way to the transom. The outer set is fine, just needs to be sharpened. The middle set needs to be extended all the way back to the transom too. I'm only guessing, but I think the innermost set can stay as-is as your 10" wide pad will take care of that area

I happen to notice from the transom pictures there is no drain hole in the rebuilt engine well,is there supposed to be one?

Good eye Mrwick. There is going to be a drain. It will be dead center and near the back. It will go streight down. There are 4 holes in the transom, and the only reason those are there is due to mounting the engine. I will run a drain hose from the drain in the well to the bilge pump hose going overboard. There will be a check valve in the hose so the water can't drain back into the bilge.
