Hey is that a custom back seat or is it stock? mine has two lounge seats in back.I would rather have a full back seat.can you send me some pics of it.I am having a new interior put in the end of april. thanks

I actually like the idea of the lounge seats. If you have kids it may be a problem. I like the way Gus' interior flows though, with the overal design of the boat...

Checkmates may not be the fastest boats on the water, but they are the nicest looking!

Gus, have you actually done any new work on the boat yet, or has all this time been pretty hectic for ya? Wasn't your goal the end of April? Am I right or do I have it mixed with someone else? BD, I love those seats you have, those are just too cool

the goal WAS the end of april. But that was before we decided to pack up and relocate. The boat is rigged and I can trailer it now. So at least that much is done. Still have a bunch of work to do. The one advantage is the new house has a garage.

I have all the interior wood parts to coat then put the vinal (sp) back on them, Build and install the seat box for the bow and front seats. Put another 3-4 layers of glass on te knees and install the stringer for the knees. Glass in the floor. Install the fuel tank and batt. box. Unrig the motor and finsih sanding the outside of the transom and paint to match.

As you can see I still have a bit to go, but the good side is its all easy stuff.

with all the pain in moving if I have it done by June 1 I will be doing good. Soon if I can find the time. Nothing like packing up and moving 1650 miles

Moved the boat forward on the trailer. added about 100lb to the tounge weight. I looked at moving the axle back but on this trailer there is now way to do it with out major work. It has fixed fenders and platforms on the side. It was around 80deg here today. Tempting to put it in the water and go for a spin.

The part that is going to piss me off is this. All the work I have done to the boat and dreams of getting over 70mph. All gone. When the boat hits the water in the mid west the 4000ft elevation is going to make it hard to hit 65mph. Bummer

If you're running at that alt there is not a-lot of air so you'll have to lean it down a bit but you should be close in power right?
icon_confused.gif

Yep, I will have to re-jet. I have been told the motor looses 3% for every 1000 ft.

Bummer

Well I have the garage unpacked far enough to get back to work on the boat. Sanded to day and burned up my 6" grinder. Bummer, it worked real good to take glass down quick. Anyway got some sanding done and finished glassing in the boxed section in the back, coated my mini stringers with glass and was done. I have found that it takes longer for the glass to cure up here.

Cool!

Gus, you should have picked up that mate with the real ugly transom that was for sale not too long ago. Now that would have been a project!
