Checkmate workmanship problem

Not tha it makes it right

dont necessarily think its a whats up with checkmate, but an issue on a few boats, nobody gets it perfect everytime, and as you said, checkmate has made plenty of boats without the issue, maybe you just got the boat when the gelcoat guy as hungover. Not that it makes it right.

also, love the colors on that boat :bigthumb:

Ok but Checkmate should backup the gelcoat guy and repair the problem:yell::yell:

agreed, it is unfortunate that you overlapped both a dealer going under and checkmate changing hands, not to mention the weird non-fix fix from the factory.

Those cracks puzzle me since they are kind of one big one in an area, I was originally thinking they'd have what I have seen on some Baja's where its a mess of spider cracking.

fasteners

looks like cracks have all started from fasteners @ rub rail and fasteners at radio box bezel. hard to see in the pics

Fasteners maybe but there is cracks on each side of the non-skid and there is the ladder bar on one side only with fasteners other side no fasteners

poor workmanship

So all & all guys I thank you for all your help and ideas I will have it fix where claupie gave me the place to go but it just goes to say even the best ****s up but for me I am very disapointed with all of this and makes me more experience on the next boat I am buying

Anymore help from you chekmate guys will be considered experiences to all of us
will keep on boating

Good luck with your repairs

I hope you get a great repair on your boat, It's nice that Claupie was able to recommend someone good who is reasonably close to home for you.

I agree with what some of the others have said about your boats colours, It looks amazing.

The Gelcoat guy doesn't drink. Next theory. :bigthumb:

to me 2 issues caused this..1 some poor(yes I know) workmanship and the black gel...seen many time black loves to crack because of the extra heat and cooling swings...I've had boats crack after installing larger sections of black vinyl...and cracks would be just under the black....the lighter colors just out from the black stayed fine...so has to be the extra heat issue causing this...but I also think checkmate..no matter who was at the helm should fix this and not jerk you off..

Or at least fix it at cost to keep a current and future checkmate owner happy.

Yes you are right we are 5 guys that own Checkmates Pulsar that we boat together and we are not happy with what is going with mine and my freinds boats has no problem with major cracks like mine

Yes I want to thank claupie I just came back to see the guy with my boat and he said it is cracking again at the back because of a poor job done It is very critical when it comes to gel coat repair it takes time to do it wright and the antiskid area should of been removed to do a pro job and for the cracks at my radio area he said just to repair the crack itself he will not waranty it he has to do the hole dash part remove windsheild, guages, steering,to do a pro. job and that is very$$
