Yea, I thought they looked bravo-ish myself but didnt say anything. With as cheap as the LS swap parts are getting, I don't see any reason to use the old SBC platform anymore. LS is better in every way but people are scared of the newness and efi. But there are real easy carb conversions or self tuning plug and play efi solutions readily available and reasonably priced. By the time you compare the two builds LS vs SBC, there isn't much difference in price because to make any kind of power in the SBC, you need to buy aftermarket aluminum heads which are pricey. The stock LS heads flow a ton and support great power without any mods except changing springs to suit cam and installing cheap rocker trunion upgrade kit because of the uncaged needle bearings in stock rockers. The factory nodular LS cranks/rods can support 600 hp also. Try doing that on an old sbc/bbc cast crank. Even the factory hyperutectic LS pistons are pretty stout until you start putting a lot of boost and heat at them.

Looks like im going to have to pass on it for now. Having a hard time convincing the boss that i need a second project boat and she wont let me free up the money for it and the drive to the east coast... Maybe if he keeps coming down ill eventually be able to get her convened!! :cheers:

Haha that would help with the extra boat issue! would still have the not spending the money issue tho... Now if i had enough money hiden that i could say you bought the project Enforcer we would be in business!! But im not smart enough to hide that kinda moneys from her... Guessing im gonna just have to wait till she is done with school to get a bigger boat...

Yes I am running twin 310hp 454EFI motors. I run mid to upper 60's in any condition and a best of 72GPS. I would like to see what 500hp 383" stroker SBC's would do. The LS marine parts are still $$$ compared to SBC or BBC parts for budget building. Plus there is a huge used market to build even cheaper!
I love how my setup runs. Great balance, comes right up on plane, and ride quality in choppy is awesome because of the weight. If only it was faster......... but I have never heard someonesay tthey wishwished their boat was slower!!!! :lol:

Thanks, it's almost immaculate, other than the purple carpeting falling apart. And me shredding a spindle on my heritage trailer on the journey from Chattanooga, to to Green Bay, wi. Family had baja and fountain so it was big shoes to fill for first real boat, first boat was a 1973 steury I rebuilt with a 2000 evinrude 200di kinda scary at 74

There was a time when an I/O Entertainer was on my list of must haves. I've kind of moved on but still think what if. That one looks like it had a tower on it at one time? The mounts are still there.
