I'm starting to like Jet drives

Dave, I think the tunes will be nice even if they are only used while hanging out. Don't really think they will get much use while running. I may need to keep my ears open for strande sounds like, vibrations , knocking and things in general just falling apart LOL LOPL!

Gus, that's for sure on the rewind. Measure three times and cut once because i'm sure that resin and cloth is not fun remove when you change your mind or screw up!

Got the intake, carb and air cleaner sorted out today and boy was it close. The air filter base just clears the carb. Going with an Edelbrock Torker II intake, Holley 850 carb, 1960's JC Whitney's National brand Air cleaner and K&N filter. Three things to check off the list, DONE DEAL :D

I LOVE that pic of the ladies in the jet boat. I wish I could find a poster like that for my basement.

My luck will be the boat is done and rigged, and the motor won't fire after sitting so long. LOLOLOL
LoL LoL
No way Gus! I'm sure you Did the Sea Foam - Deep Creep deal and all the other tricks. You know how old Mercs are, she may be cold natured at first but once she fiires off you will be good for the rest of the day:lol:

Carlson Project

any new pics of that jet boat?

I have been off line for about 5 months and just started fooling around with the boat last week. I did cut out and test fit the stringers. I also test fitted the 454 mach up block, with oil pan and motor mounts. Looks like it's gonna work out ok. The intake carb and air cleaner just fit under the cowl scoop but the big old Kodiak manifolds don't clear the engine hatch. I have a set of Lightning headers to try. They are about 3" shorter so they should work but I did not test them yet. I'm going a "lil" crazy on the jet pump set up. I am going with a split bowl, snoot, ride plate and top steer manual place diverter. Think it will be the only CVX20 set up this way. Every one I have seen has the standard E-pump routing with all of the controlls located below the water line. That's no fun! No new pics for now, no longer have a camera. The X has most of that stuff if you know what mean :irked: will take some time to build my toys back up LOL!
