Press Release-New Checkmate Convincor Coming in 2012

I think I saw this last night when I passed the factory. Dean was standing up inside it. I had my tank with me or I might have stopped in to check it out. Went ahead and honked anyway like I do everyday when I go passed the place.

can a 600SCI fit under there
Hatch clearance may be a issue. They are offering a 525 and the 565 as blue motor options (so far). :bigthumb:
Good for upper 78-80mph(est)

Good for mid 80's (est)

I admit I was very skeptical when the drawing was first released but I really like how this boat turned out:thumb: it should be a great seller for Checkmate. I also think it would be a descent platform for an open bow

I can't wait to see what one does with a 565!!!
Some may argue that those motors are ugly, but you can't argue about the 89 octane power, drive by wire, and smooth idle!

Yup, i really dig this boat, it came out really nice!! I will admit i'm still a little up in the air on the windshield bit over all it is a killer looking boat!! Both swim platform styles look good on the boat too!! Hope it does well Checkmate!! :thumb:

I like this boat, but I can't ignore the fact that that these newer models are in the same size category as the older ZT models. Will Checkmate eventually completely eliminate the classic I/O models (with built in platforms)?

Example, the ZT240 is no longer part of Checkmates "official" line up. The ZT244 has taken over. Is this new 26 the replacement for the ZT260? With the fiberlass platform, at a glance it does look built in.

The 244 does not apeal to me because I require drop down bolsters in an I/O. If I wanted bucket seats, I would have stuck with my Pulsare.

I guess my point is that I wonder where the future of the Checkmate offshore boats will go. The ZT 240/260 are great entry level off shore boats. Will the new 26 replace them both? Only time will tell...

2013 changes- we have dropped the ZT260, with the addition of the new 26 convincor we felt the need to have a competing model in the line up wasn't necessary.....

wasnt worried about the block fitting, but rather the blower that sits directly on top,(blower to hatch clearance) would there need to be a scoop or is the ventalation in the engine bay enough to supply air to this beast. would like to sell the cobalt and order one but not with out the 600

Next time I am talking to Doug or Kip, I will ask for sure

Is that a quote from the Checkmate Factory Website?

From their dealer's book :thumb:

And you are restoring a 2800SX with twin 300XS's...

YOU ARE MY IDOL!

HD

Hot D, yes I am restoring the 2800sx. after running my cobalt for 35 hours so far this year i have found a few things that i dont like about the cobalt boats and the big one is the gel finish, just doesnt shine like my 2100BR did after 7 years of use. the rigging (electrical) is a fricken joke. When you look up under the dash it is just one big jumble of wires not at all what i expected out of a 95000 dollar boat. As for the ride it is a wave crusher but when trimmed up at crusing speeds it feels very unpredictable and slippery no where near the solid but light feeling of a mate. The wife and I have spoken many times on htis subject and she is all for another checkmate as long as it has a sun pad and swim deck this time and no outboards, so... I was thinking a nice red 260 with a 600SCI breathing under the hatch but I wont do it unless the 600 fits good and will not settle for the 565, I need or rather want the blower motor for when I go to Tahoe elevations with it plus it would be oh so cool. plus it will tide me over till 2015 when I get to order my338 skater with twin 700's

One more thing does checkamte have a list of boat shows for this coming year where this and other boats from there line up can be seen in person, like Miami perhaps?

I would also love to see somekind of list like this...
Hoping the Miami in water boat show is gonna feature some Mates, because that's one of the best boat shows in the US.
