All stock setup. I am buying these front seats then having the back seat, side panels, and engine pads redone by someone who knows what they are doing (i.e. not me!). Its going to be all white seating and black carpet. I would love to add some green into the seats but its hard to pay $300 for a seat then tear it apart and pay more to add it into the seat.

Depending on how I feel this weekend, I will try to get some. I think I have been pushing 2 hard and now my back is pushing back:(. I have not done anything since the last pics posted.

I did order the final parts for the engine today. Got a few stainless pipe plugs, plug wires, MSD coil, drain petcocks, dist cap & rotor, temp sender, motor mounts. Damn merc parts are expen$ive:brickwall:. Hopefully this is the last of the engine expensives. Still have the transom mount to go through (gimble bearing, seals, bellows, etc)

I just found this thread and read every single post.

I will agree with everyone who has said that you have an amazing talent! That boat looks awesome and will turn many many heads.

Let that back heal up real good as boating will really pound the crap out of it. Thanks for doing the write up and looking forward to watching the rest of the build!!!!

I had a major setback yesterday. I tore into the rear engine compartment and to my supprise, I found something real bad. I guess the water wicked up through the balsa and it was all wet in the already repaired area. The only way that I can get to it is to tear out the new carpet, floor, stringers and get to all the balsa to let it dry. So out it all came, destroying all the wood since it was all glassed in very well. Also destroyed was the carpet, shredding as it came out. UHHH:pissed:

I will say the 4 1/2" angle grinder with a cup knot wire wheel makes good work of the rotten balsa without harming the bottom fiberglass. I have no ideal how I am going to repare this since what I thought would work is not working. I guess I am going to have to have a brainstorm session and come up with some sort of plan as I am hoping to have it all back in by friday night.

Sorry man... I know that had to really suck. But it is better to find now with no motor than when everything is in place. I've been watching this thread for a while now, real nice work love the paint job. this should be a small set back when you look at where you have came from with this project. Can't wait to see it finished GOOD LUCK :bigthumb:

fuk it!

Yep your right, its a small setback and better I am finding it now. I am still aggravated that it happened. I guess it would have not been so bad if I actually got some wear and use out of the new floor and carpet, or at least been able to reuse the plywood floor piece.

Well after some serious  my main concern now is why the room is spinning and getting the moisture out of the remaining balsa to make sure it will be problem free for many years to come. I got it in the garage all covered up and the dehumidifier on max hoping it will dry it out over the next couple days. I am still planing on having it back together by Friday as I have friends lined up for every night to help. After all this boat don't run on thanks and if dem bitche$ aint helped, then they can rent a peddle boat!:thumb:

Maybe a high speed run in her "dirty lil sister" this weekend will make me feel better:surf:

Yea I have read it and its a great write-up. I sent him a PM hoping to talk to him a little more indepth about the repair. I am just worried about leaving a little moisture in there and it biting me in the a$$ down the road. I do know without air, wood does not rot but I dont want to chance it at all with some moisture.

Ok a few days with a dehumidfier and it was dry as a bone. I came up with a plan and so far its looks like its the ticket. I removed the balsa, sanded it smooth with 40 grit. I then took a 2x6 and cut it to 1/2" pieces. I then dipped them into resign and placed them all into place. When it was done, I took and smoothed the edges with bondo and sanded it all smooth. I then took resign and cloth and covered it all for a water-tight fix. It came out looking great and the boat is very ridgid like it should be. I got the front and rear bulkheads glued into place and layed out the floatation boxes. Got all the parts cut and ready to go into place but ran out of glue. So tomorrow I will have everything in place and ready for carpet on tuesday.

Got it all glassed in today. Refoamed the floatation boxes and hull. I was not going to foam it but just incase I decided to do it. Everyone knows insurance is there when your payuing the bill to them but when you need them they try to find a reason to denie your claim.

Pics tomorrow:thumb:

Got it all foamed, glassed, and then did a roll in bedliner on everything. I figure it will add waterproofing to it as well as give it a texture to cover any flaws in the wood grain and glass work. Also making it all black will really make the engine pop in there:banana:

Next on the list today it to do the floor install and glass it all in. I am also going to sand the angled areas of the floor smooth since they are not the smoothest around. Black carpet shows all the flaws in the floor so Iafter all this, I want it as near perfect as I can.

The floor is done! Got it all foamed, smoothed, and glassed in. Started on the transom unit tonight but dont feel much like doing anything. Will get pics up tomorrow

Walking down into the basement last night my right leg went completely limp and I took a fall down a couple steps. I am having sharp pains in my lower back when I turn in one position. Its alot better than last night but still bothering me. I go tomorrow morning to get x-rays taken. Maybe I am just pushing a little to hard:(
