Upgraded my tow vehicle.

Well, with my twin girls getting bigger, the Silverado SS wasn't cutting it anymore. So I bought this very clean 07 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab. While I miss my SS, I love the extra room and smooth ride in the new body style truck. Even with a 4/6 drop, the truck rides amazingly smooth down the highway. This pic was taken before installing helper bags on the bag to level it out. Even with out them I was surprised that the boat only squatted the truck a inch or two and it towed it really well.

Here is my setup. 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo. I just bought this jeep and basically stole it for what I paid.

I paid $2000 for it 2 weeks ago. Best part is it has a new engine and new transmission in it with receipts!!! The people I bought it from their son was using it to go back and forth to school with. In November the engine died so they replaced it. Then one month ago the tranny didn't feel as strong so he had it rebuilt. He just graduated and moved to arizona with his girlfriend and they had a new vehicle there and didn't want to bring this. He just wanted the quick cash for it. Some people are just stupid lol. I saw it get listed and was handing them cash 45 minutes later. I got home and 40 people responded to the ad. It needs a few small things like a sway bar link for $30 and some shocks but other than that solid jeep. 4x4 even works.

Well, I have been coveting thyn 2015 Chevy's for a while now and finally made the decision to put the big block 03 Avalanche up for sale and lease a new half ton. I couldn't even buy a 07-09 truck with 100k miles after my trade-in for what they are giving these things away for lease. Heck, I can barely do the maintenance and repairs on my old starting truck for what this thing costs a month. I got an absolutely smoking deal on a demo through a friend at the local dealership. It has many more options than I thought I was going to be getting for the same price as the bare bones cheap truck I started out seeking. I cannot believe the power they are getting out of the little 5.3L engines now, it is a rocket by itself. Guess I can't buy a bigger boat for a little while longer now! This should pull my 253 nicely still. I will find out this weekend for sure!

Very nice Ron!!! That thing will pull your boat no problem. My 07 with a 5.3 and a 4 speed pulls mine down the road, so your 6 speed will be gravy. Brent pulls his 259 all over the place with his truck that is almost identical to yours. Throw a Diablo or Hypertech on there and it will really wake it up.

Dont let him fool you! He still drives a bug and Steph got herself a new truck to pull his boat with! :poke:

OK, here I thought I could lease a truck and leave it alone......already decided leveling kits are friggin cheap for these and it will get one......and I was looking into programmers but I couldn't find any solid info on actual results except for custom mail order tunes.

It is a sickness really......I can't leave anything alone apparently!

I want a tuner for my Avalanche but every time I start to price something else comes up that the money gets spent on.
