Wutchu talkin' bout Willis?!
If I bought a boat new, and it had stress cracks from the start, I'd hope I'd notice the same day I got it home or soon enough to stop payment.
I'd surely try to get a remedy from the factory in the first few months, not at the five year mark? CM transoms are pretty strong, but anything can happen in five years. How can the factory be responsible at this point?

I wish that would been the case but I paid cash for the boat and 3 weeks later the dealer goes bankrupt how lucky!!
I am the original owner and I e-mail Kipp and he said checkmate will not fix that but never mention if his dad is willing to pay to fix it the boat is 5 years old allready and only has 105 hrs on itI might be wrong but this is what I have been told by 2 owners of Combs built boats.
You have a Checkmate Boats Inc built checkmate. In 2008, they were sold and started selling boats as Checkmate Marine Inc. Doug Smith is the new owner and will only guarantee boats built by his company. In order for you to get it fixed, the PO of checkmate Bill Combs has to approve and pay for repairs to your boat.
You can call checkmate and ask for Kipp Combs. He should be able to assist you as to if there is a warranty or not. Kipp is a good guy to deal with as are all the others up there.
I might also add that my understanding is warranty is only for the original owner???
Denis, put some pics up. I've had an 06 and 08 2000BR's with no stress cracks anywhere...I'd be pretty surprised if it was due to Checkmate's quality. Ain't sayin' it isn't...just that I'd be surprised.
Some cracks are nothing more than imperfections from the mold and can be sanded, wet sanded and polished up.
You'll swear they are cracks, but they are often cosmetic and nothing unusual when laying up gel good and laying it thick.

The cracks that were in mine were just in the gel coat, nothing to do with the structure, but when they fixed it, they also added some glass on the inside for extra strength.
