Sorry to hear that, CmPulse. Hang in there! I'm not sure what type of engineer you are but maybe with Boeing moving to town.......
Man Rob it sucks, at least you kind of had fore sight and planned well for it. Some people are so tapped out that they would file chapter 7 within a month of loosing their job. I am also lucky as the only real payment I have is the truck(a huge $279/month). Everything else is all payed for. If it was not for this, I would be in a world of hurt with my back deal. I say get the referb computer put in.
The only thing better than a day on the lake......... A day on the lake while getting paid by the system. You paid into it, use it to the max. If you don't them someone else that prob never paid into it will use all your hard earned money up.
Use the next few years doing boat work in the back yard to add CASH income. You got the talent and there is plenty of people out there that dont have the time or know how to do it. If in a couple years you can build your client list up, you may decide to stick it to the man and never go back to what you did before.

You never know what life will deal you. There is nothing any of us can say to change you chain of events. But keep your chin up. Good things come to those who deserve them.

It definitely sucks about your job. I've been through that when a company I worked for went out of business. Everyone there could see it coming, they'd lay off a couple of people every week until it was like a ghost town at the end. Everything did eventually work out ok for me, but dam, it sure wasn't any fun for quite a while.
