checkmate weekend Chesapeake bash 2015

I bought a seven pound brisket tonight and I'll get the same in ribs so there should be plenty for dinner and midnight snack. I don't have sides for Friday figured out so if there is a volunteer feel free to make it known. Spencer and family I think are not making it there until Saturday morning.

Too much brew Sim??? Is there such a thing? :poke:

Do you think about 5lb tubs potato and macaroni salad be enough for Friday night? I bring my ski

I'll have my skis and rope.

Merc - bring the salads!

Sim - bring the brisket and the steak.
I'll be cooking the turkey on Friday, so it will be free to fire up on Saturday for your stuff.

If anyone has spare coolers, try to bring them - we'll have a lot of good food to keep cool from day to day and I'm sure the fridge will fill fast with milk etc.
Hearing a plan! Feelin' the fuzzies!

I have a spare cooler i can bring. there was a second fridge in the basement of the house last year that barely got used at all. so there should be plenty of fridge space there if needed.

Bout dam time I feel some excitment other then my own.

PS. All meat is good and better when the light weights have gone to bed.

Boo Yaaa!
We may have a whole separate set of of fume issues.
Oh, and I'll have a big cooler too.
And a fire extinguisher.

I'm going to try and come by boat again this year from NJ and have a favor to ask. Instead of boating with the extra weight of 5 cases of beer, I would be more than happy to pay if someone had the time and room to pick them up.

I would need 3 (30 box cans) cases of Natty Lite (Natural Lite) for Keith's work for beer program:cheers: and 2 (30 box cans) cases of miller lite to share with whoever picks them up:bigthumb: Gratuity is also included:thumb:

I'll be dropping my truck off in the morning on friday and bringing the boat around at around lunch time again. so we will have transportation if needed.

Sim, All I have is a slalom ski that is permanently affixed for my size 13.
p.s. add me to the short lightweight list!

Does this mean that in the next few days I need to grow my feet several sizes? Ain't happening. Gonna use knarloids single. Ain't packin' ski's.
As is I'm not gonna have the time and brainsize to remember all the things
I've gotta pack. It's gonna be timeblenderfast time.
Can't wait till we come down and slow down. Hopefully ski too.
Checked trailer inflation 15 minutes ago. 35 doesn't cut it for a 3 hour trip and the inflator went "pfffft". One more stupid-a*s thing on the list
3 days away, a full weeks worth of things to do before we leave.
Boy, I'm looking forward to seeing you guys around the campfire when we pull in.
Adam texted me that he picked up a pair of 6lb. briskets tonight.
Gonna dry rub em and get ready.

Car is packed and I'm pulling out tommorow after work north bound. looking forward to some cooler weather. Its been a heat wave early here this year. Whats the gas prices looking like up there?

Dumb recipe question-
The briskets I'm sitting with- I've got an excellent kansas city dry rub.
Should it be applied soon (tomorrow) and sit cold till it gets smoked or is there an argument for not opening it several days in advance and breaking it open a day before and giving it the rub?
BTW- this is not just a cooking consult it's a maturity test.
Please don't tarnish this beef and make it inedible.

I just have to finish up my shift at the firehouse (7am) then 9 off, I got most the stuff lined up (in my head at least) then I'll start floating over that way sometime Thursday (I really don't even have a time yet). Is there a time Friday we have to wait till to show up?

im hoping to drop my truck off around 11 or so on friday and be out playing in the magothy by 11:15
