I looked at this boat about 4-5 years ago, not sure if its still the same owner. It its what it is, the boat was fairly solid then, but had a cheap/poor quality interior job done on the cockpit and the cuddy was partially taken apart. The boat had not been re-painted at that time, gel was extremely faded. If you figure each engine is worth 2k or so then you are left with a $4500 boat and trailer, probably worth it unless the core is junk which I can't speak to as I took a quick look and decided it wasn't for me. It needs work to be a gem. Droptop's 25 convincor was a far better deal at 8500 without power, wish I had bought that one but didn't have the cash at the time. Drop's is pretty much mint.

I paid $8500 for mine with twin 225's (motors in great condition). The boat wasn't as you all know. There isn't an expectation that another like Droptops is around out there, and given that he has already pumped a lot of $$'s (more than the boat cost) into his and also had to replace transom, and needs new floor and a tank, I think people should not expect these old o/bs to be cheap purchases (or gems).
They all need the big jobs doing. Mine is getting new transom after this season. So is Ramifications.

So if you want one, be prepared to have either lots of money for someone to do the refurb or lots of patience to do it yourself.

These are truly labors of love, but when you have them running as well as Droptops, you won't be even thinking of the heartache and wallet ache.

You either want to get into an older twin o/b Checkmate or you don't.
Without seeing this one in flesh or knowing the owner/history, I would go for it knowing what I've been through with mine. I'd consider any offer accepted below $8k as a bonus.
