89 Starliner Factory Refirb

wow that looks awesome!!! many congrats on such a beautiful finished product.

i think the perspective of the picture and the fact that the motor is jacked to the moon is altering how large the motor looks.

This thread may be the most inspirational and expensive I have ever read

STB_4264.jpg

Watching this thread and Seeing this motor really has the juices flowing.
I have been trying to keep myself controlled but the last shot with that
bad a$$ motor has me going off the edge.

I don't want to hijack this thread but in the interest of color coordination what colors would you suggest for my boat?

My own personal opinion is to keep the factory color scheme for nostalgic reasons. If the gelcoat is worn, I would have them respray the pattern but maybe add some flake!!

Sam, is she at least running right, now? Sorry it's been a pain in your a$$.

Before you know it, you'll be chilling on your awesome boat, listening to some tunes and drinking a beer(s)......

The boat is going to be stupid awesome I think. The horsepower will roar, the stereo will rock, and the good times will roll! I did get my props for the G2, so Dean will get to water test it for a shake down run.

Evinrude props = mucho $$$. The 2 props were $1400 total. I mean seriously...that was full retail...talk about whacking a guy. I keep telling myself it doesn't matter (I here the Lego Movie song in my head "Everything is awesome....") because I"m pissing in the ocean at this point.

Serious question: I've only been able to research this a little but so far...Mercury props on the G2? I've got the Merc Flo Torq hub kit for the G2, but I'm more interested in which props will really work? If I remember correctly, the Tempest+ has a wider diameter across the center hub than the Trophy+...so will a Trophy+ be too narrow on this motor?

Just got the boat back from Port Clinton. I may have named the marina I took it to, but I won't now. F*&K that guy. Anyone wants the skinny, PM me, but I won't post it in the thread. Long story short, he got the boat on the 16th of June and I was finally able to have Checkmate pick it up on the 21st of July. :shakehead: :brickwall: :pissed:  :yell:

I was headed north on RT4 and saw this big azz motor the other day and as I got closer I saw a beautiful blue and white Starliner attached to it. Headed south. Wish I could have looked at it longer.

Sam I am

While researching a replacement for my 24p trophy plus I came across this
Mercury prop selector. If they interchange on a Merc they should on the
G2 with the proper hub kit.

I am going to try a Revolution4 21 pitch. larger diameter like the Tempest but 4 blade. I have read the Rev4 acts like one more in pitch than the Trophy Plus.

These were recommendations for my Starliner with following data entered.
Mercury 225 EFI, 5000rpm, 58mph, 24 pitch prop

Looks like BRP is charging Canadian prices for their props. $700+ is what we pay for any new SS prop. I am sure the Trophy and Tempest will blow out on that motor. Nothing compares to the torque of a G2. As I mentioned before the Rev4 has been the go to prop on these, that is why BRP copied it and made the RX4 that you bought. I know some guys use Bravo 1. Another contender would be the Enertia Eco. Big stinking blades but only go to 23p. But you have to under prop as they act way bigger. Not a ton of info out there on the G2 though.
